Lady Clippers Continue their Winning Ways
The Chester Clippers had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They secured a 49-43 W over Penncrest. The victory was all the more spectacular given Chester's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 287th, while the Lions are ranked 113th).
Chester's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from JaMya Muhammad, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Muhammad hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Imani Dorsey, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Chester is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Penncrest, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-4.
Chester will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday where Chester Lady Clippers will honor their Seniors and retire Chester Lady Clipper Legend Charlene Thomas's Jersey.

Chester (17-1) used a 23-9 first quarter outburst enroute to an 84-55 thumping of the Interboro Bucs. With the win the Clippers stretch their winning streak to 16 games and are now 7-0 in Del Val League action. With only one league game remaining Chester has reclaimed their position as Kings of the Del Val League. This marks title #35 in the 45 years of the league's existence and Coach Taylor's sixth title in his 7 years as Head Coach.
The Clippers fell behind 0-4 before awaking with a 13-0 run taking a 13-4 lead with 3:20 to play. The Bucs stopped the run with a trey and the Clippers closed the quarter with a 10-2 sprint. Jaseir Thompson led the first quarter with 11 of his 16 points. Dante Atkinson added 5 points followed by three from Germaine Glover.
