FSC Principal's Update
December 3, 2021
The time has finally come for our P.E.M. celebration. Please come out on Saturday (information is below in the link). Also in this newsletter is information on our book fair. The book fair is a great way to both shop and support our library! While you are here shopping for books, you can view the incredible artwork from our students. I am always amazed at what they create.
Some students will be taking EOC (end of course) exams next week. These are our semester Government students and a variety of others(retakes, missing test, moved in from out of state, etc.). Tests will be during school hours (first thing in the morning).
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to me with questions!

Principal
Staff Spotlight (Hannah Klotz, formerly Curtis)
My name is Hannah Klotz. I recently got married over the summer so I am no longer Curtis! (as most of you know me by ). I am an Intervention Specialist and co-department chair for the Special Education Dept. This is my 4th year at Finneytown as an IVS and my 8th year in education. Prior to Finneytown, I was a secondary instructional assistant at my alma mater, Colerain High School. During that time, I completed my Master's Degree in Education at Mount Saint Joseph University. I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. I attended Colerain High School from 2007-2011 where I was a multi sport athlete (softball, basketball, tennis) and also apart of Student Senate and Cardinals in Action (community service). After graduating from high school, I attended Thomas More College (now University) where I double majored in Communications & Sports Marketing and continued my softball career. I was also Vice President of SAAC (Student Athletic Advisory Committee) and President of the Communications Honor Society. My senior year I interned at the Ryan Seacrest Studios in Cincinnati Children's Hospital. After that, I completed an internship as a sports broadcaster for WLWT News 5 with George Vogel. You are probably now wondering how I ended up in Education! Upon graduating from Thomas More, I really wanted to coach and accepted a Varsity Assistant softball position at Oak Hills High School. I also obtained my personal training license so I was able to work with the strength and conditioning program. After coaching there for 2 years, I came back to Colerain where I coached Varsity Softball as well. During this time, I realized my love and passion for teaching. Since I was already a camp counselor for several summers before this, it only made sense to go the education route! Since then I have also taught business communications courses at Thomas More through their TAP program as well!
Fast forward, I am now married to my husband Robert who is also a special education teacher at Oak Hills. We recently built our first home in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. I am still personal training as a side gig several times per week. In conclusion, I have loved teaching at Finneytown and being around such great people. The relationships formed here are unmatched and I am blessed to be surrounded by such intelligent, caring, driven educators who I now call friends. I chose Finneytown because of the size and diversity and I am so grateful that I did. Finneytown has put me in many positions to grow and learn as well as mold me into the best educator that I can be daily! Please come visit me in 212 whenever you'd like!

Celebrations
2. Congratulations to Kayla Lowe for being selected to be a part of the Grade 7 ELA Range-finding Committee. She will be working with the state to determine acceptable answers to state test questions.
3. Varsity boys and girls bowling both beat Mariemont for their first wins of the season! Nate Heath led the boys and Anya Revelle led the girls.
4. Mr. Holland had a group of students Thursday after school teaching them the finer points of disc golf. If you don't know, he is a professional disc golfer!
5. Finneytown wrestling is back. The middle school team dominated the competition and took first place in the King of the Hill meet. The high school team battled hard for a second place finish as it came down to the last match of the night. It was a fantastic meet with the stands of the main gym full of supportive family, friends, and curious students who cheered loudly at every Finneytown victory. We are working hard to Restore the Roar of the Finneytown Wildcats.
