What's Buzzin' at Bryant
Week of December 11, 2023
A Message From Mrs. Johnson
Hello Parents! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.
We are experiencing an increase of students that are being dropped off at school in the morning prior to the gate opening. Please be aware there is no supervision before 7:40 am. I do understand the need for parents to maintain their daily work hours/schedule however, many students are engaging in unsafe behaviors after their parents have departed (climbing trees, playing chase, cutting fruit from the trees in the planter, etc.). In the event that you drop your child off at school early again, please be aware there is no supervision. Students must be seated waiting patiently for the school gates to open for the day. Thank you in advance for your support and cooperation.
Fundraiser orders will be available for pick up on Wednesday, December 13th at 1:15 pm. PTO will notify parents directly if there is a large order that needs to be picked up. All other orders will be given to students for them to take home.
As a reminder, our Winter break will begin December 25, 2023. Students will return to school January 9, 2024. Our last day of instruction will be on the 22nd and we want to see all of our little bees at school.
As always, thank you for unwavering support. Have a great week!
You are coordially invited
Please plan to join us at our Holiday Dance! Families will enjoy music, dance, fun, food and fellowship. Entry to the dance is $2 per person. There will also be food and snacks available for purchase. Tickets can be purchased in the front office or by sending the attached order form to school with your child in a sealed envelope to be given to the classroom teacher or to the front office. The dance will be held outside so please plan to bundle up. We look forward to seeing everyone at the dance!
Bryant Movie Day is Here!
Every year, for the past 30 years, Bryant has established the tradition of taking the entire student body on a school wide movie trip on the last Friday before leaving for Winter Break (December 22, 2023). This is a way for us to build community as a school and have a little fun. Two screening rooms have been reserved just for us. In addition to the movie, each student will receive popcorn, candy, and a soft drink.
This year, we will be viewing the new Wonka movie. I have included the trailor for parents to view. Permission slips will be going home with students on Monday. Every child is required to return their permission slip no later than December 20th to attend the trip. Parent volunteers are not needed. There will be plenty of support and supervision to address the needs of all of our students. In the event a parent elects not to have their child attend or if a student arrives late and misses the bus, a staff member will be on site to ensure instruction continues.
We are so excited to be able to continue this long standing Bryant tradition. Please contact your child's teacher if you have any questions.
You are not too young to code!
Indi inspires imaginative, play-based learning by empowering kids to design and build their own mazes while creating opportunities for students to learn the basics of coding, solve problems, and nurture computational thinking skills. It is screenless coding. Using Indi's color sensor, students communicate instructions to Indi by placing color tiles down that tell it what to do, where to go and how fast. Great job Terrific TK's!!!!!!! Keep stretching your imagination to the limits!
Thank you for your generosity!
Thank you to the American Legion Auxiliary for their generous donations of playground equipment and games! We are so grateful for their partnership and ongoing support of our school!

The Core Virtue for the month of December - Courage
Generosity is giving with an open hand and an open heart. Hospitality is the friendly reception of guests or strangers into one's inner circle. As we continue through the holiday season and beyond, let's find a way to be more generous and hospitable to others.
This month, as part of our social-emotional development discussions, classes will discuss what it means and what it looks like to show gratitude. Please join us by talking with your child about showing gratitude and appreciation to others.
