North Junior High News
June 6,2023
Principal's Corner
Hello NJH Families,
Dear families,
June is here! Tomorrow, we will say goodbye to your students as they head into their summer break and saying goodbye to North Junior High. All of this is bittersweet. We acknowledge that summer break is also a time for growth and change but we are already excited to see the returning faces and all the new faces of the 6th and 7th graders in to the halls of North Middle School. There are many feelings that go through kids and staff during this point of every school year, and no matter what those feelings may be, we are so grateful that your child is a part of this North family now and always!
Topics for this week’s newsletter:
Community Day Information
Health Information - medication and immunizations
Hopkins Sports and Summer Programs
Beyond School
****Valleyfair Important Information****
We have been hearing from some students that despite the fact that they are on the list to return from Valleyfair at 1:30, they will purposely skip the bus and make their parents come get them. We do not condone this action. However, because our buses must be back to run routes for other schools, we will be leaving promptly at 1:30. If your student chooses not to or does not make it to the bus on time, they will need your assistance to get home. Please talk with your student about your expectations.
Health Office Medication Pick Up Reminder
If your student brought any medications to school this year and have any items left unused, please arrange to pick up meds from the health office before June 7th. Please contact Nurse Ann Salzer at 952-988-4804 with any questions. Per school policy, we are required to discard/destroy all remaining medications that have not been picked up.
Immunization Update- Fall 2023
Minnesota law requires that all school-age children be up to date on all recommended immunizations to attend school, unless the child has written proof of an exemption. This fall, the Hopkins School District will be enforcing the No Shots, No School Immunization Policy, and will be excluding students who are not compliant with their immunizations. Please contact your healthcare provider with questions about immunization status and to schedule an appointment for needed immunization(s).
