NSHS Individual Learning Plan (ILP)
The Individual Learning Plan (ILP) in Naviance is a graduation requirement for all Rhode Island Public School students. Every student at NSHS is required to complete a series of tasks in the ILP each year. Students access their ILPs on the Naviance platform through the google waffle icon. NSHS Students are completing the ILP during Advisory, but can access it and use it anytime.
Students start this plan in sixth grade at North Smithfield Middle School (NSMS). NSMS students start using Naviance to explore their interests and think about their futures. By starting conversations and exploration as early as possible, NSMS/NSHS prepares students to make decisions about their life after high school graduation. Each student’s path is unique. Students continue using Naviance tools and resources throughout high school to support their postsecondary planning.
Students log in to their account in Naviance via their NSSD Google Account. This is done by clicking the Google “Waffle” and selecting the Naviance Icon (Do NOT click the Naviance Staff Icon). This will open Naviance in a new window and will automatically log a student into Naviance.
This year we have already worked on Goal Setting, Building a Resume, and Career research. In the coming months we will work on more career based activities in preparation for our career fair on February 10, 2023.

SCHOOL ATTENDANCE
SCHOOL ATTENDANCE
Attendance in the 2022-2023 School Year is critical as the community works together to help students achieve their academic, career, and personal goals. Families should notify Mrs. Eggleston via email at eeggleston@nsps.us if their child is absent and the send in a note for those absences when the child returns to school. Please include your name, the name of the student, the date of the absence, and the reason for absence from school.
Encouraging regular school attendance is one of the most powerful ways you can prepare your child for success—both in school and in life. When you make school attendance a priority, you help your child get better grades, develop healthy life habits, avoid dangerous behavior and have a better chance of graduating from high school.
When students are absent for fewer days, their grades and reading skills often improve—even among those students who are struggling in school. Students who attend school regularly also feel more connected to their community, develop important social skills and friendships, and are significantly more likely to graduate from high school, setting them up for a strong future.
CCRI RUNNING START PROGRAM

Home school, private and out of state students are responsible for tuition and fees.
