Kendallvue Community Newsletter
September 4 - 10, 2023
All Students are curious, creative, and confident learners!
Dear Kendallvue Families,
Growing up in New Jersey, Labor Day always marked the end of summer and the beginning of school. It is hard to believe we have three weeks down in this school year. It was wonderful to close out August with our 4th and 5th graders at Cal-Wood. Our students did amazing and they learned a lot about their peers and the beautiful Colorado outdoors. We hiked, learned about early homesteading in Colorado, sat around the campfire and performed skits and songs, and some of us actually got some sleep! Thank you to our staff chaperones and parents for supporting our students on this extraordinary student experience.
We have a busy week ahead with our SAC and PTA meetings on Wednesday. We also have picture day on Friday. This year we are excited to carry forward a Peiffer tradition of "Lunch with a Loved One." Make sure to complete the form and turn it in to the office no later than Wednesday. As always, thank you for supporting our community and school. I look forward to seeing you around the school this week.
Cheers,
Bruce Lindsey
Principal

Main Office Updates
Student Dismissal
- Please be sure to pick up your student at 3:05 pm. If you happen to be late, teachers will wait at their outside doors until 3:10 pm. At that time, teachers will bring students to the main office. If you know you are going to be late, please call the main office.
Buses in the Morning
- The school buses have moved up closer to the parking lot main entrance. This helps our students get a little closer to the main entrance of the school. We have flipped-flopped our Daycare Vans and School Buses morning locations. The afternoon locations will remain the same.
Mental Health Supports at Kendallvue
Mental Health Newsletter
- Our mental health team is working to provide some learning opportunities at Kendallvue throughout the school year. Our first effort in this endeavor is to provide some information for families on things we do at school to support our students. Here is our September edition of "Coyote Coping Kit". Make sure to explore this newsletter as it has quite a bit of information about our staff and the strategies we utilize throughout the day with our students.
SSIS Screener
- This year, we will be using the Social Skills Improvement System™ Social-Emotional Learning Edition Screening/Progress Monitoring Scales (SSIS SEL) to screen students' social-emotional competencies. This is a screener used throughout the school district for the last three years. We will do this screener again later in the school year. If you choose to opt your student out of the screener, you must complete this form and return it to the school (click here). Otherwise, no action is necessary.
