Note from Mrs. Carder
I hope you have been able to stop by the school and see the great classrooms and beautiful building. The custodians and teachers have worked really hard to prepare the building for the students.
Thank you to the many following drop off and pick up procedures. Safety is always our number one concern and being patient and following the procedures helps all be safe. The number one thing you can do to help out is to display the bright yellow card and pull as far forward as you are able. Remember if you are walking up to pick up your child, please allow the car line to pull forward before walking across.
If you have any questions or concern throughout the school year please check with your child's teacher first and then if needed I will be happy to conference with you. Many issues are resolved quickly when the parent and teacher connect and communicate. We all want the best for each child and communication is the best way to make that happen!
Hopefully you can attend our Open House on September 25. This is a great time to look at your child's work and see where they spend their day and say hello to all their teachers. Don't forget to sign up for parent-teacher conference time as well.
For the Students,

Teacher and Staff of the Month
Congratulations to Davy Walker on being staff member of the month! He will do anything for any staff member and keeps our building shiny and beautiful!
Lunch
#Kindness Counts
Students will earn kindness tickets and be celebrated at lunch with a fun cheer. We will also do little drawings for prizes as well to keep students motivated and focused on being kind.
4th Grade Leadership Jobs
The Counseling Corner
I am so excited to start another year with Wanda Gray! I love meeting our new students and their families, and reconnecting with returning ones. Classroom counseling lessons are beginning, and will continue on a biweekly basis. At the beginning of the year we talk about who the school counselor is and what my job is here at school. We quickly move into lessons on identifying and coping with strong feelings. We will also start learning about what Kindness Count is all about! Look for writing, activity pages or projects to come home from counseling lessons. Talk with your child about what they learned in the lesson and how they can use the information or skill at home also. Please feel free to contact me any time with questions or concerns.
