Food Scraps
Thought about feeding our pigs Marmite & Toast? You have a new scrap bin from the council that would be handy for you to bring along when you are walking your child/children to school. Wow farm life and experiences at our door. We will readily take these scraps.
We are proud to be Smoke Free
We all have a right to quality air. Thank you for respecting this and enforcing this.
Important Information for Parents / Whanau
Save Money & Reduce Carbon Emissions
Most of you probably live less that 2km from our school. If you drive your child/children to school did you know that it costs you more to do so? This comes from the AA and is on their list of ways to reduce costs and fuel consumption.
Avoid short trips
If your destination is only a short distance away, try and use alternative modes of transport, such as walking or cycling. Around a third of NZ car trips are less than two kilometres in length and vehicles use more fuel when they're cold.
https://www.aa.co.nz/cars/motoring-blog/how-to-calculate-and-reduce-your-fuel-consumption/
Often, it is actually less stressful to just walk. Consider getting gear into the car, getting everyone into car seats and seat belts (oh, I remember the pain, resistance and arguments), the traffic and then trying to find a park. For your health and mental well-being, try walking for a week. Take up the challenge, keep the phone in the pocket (your health app will love you) and enjoy precious time with your loved ones. This also de-stresses after all the effort of getting them up, dressed, fed and out the door. Good luck and enjoy!
Cyber Safety Agreements
The elearning team led by Mrs Alice Smith have our new ICT User Agreements ready to distribute. These went out in hard copy to all students a couple of weeks ago Please ensure you read them WITH your child, sign them and return them to the Office. Debbie and Mia will document the returned agreements . Please note, if we do NOT have the agreement back, for your child/children there will be NO access for them to our school devices.
Thank you Hammer Hardware
Reminders of information given on enrolment to IPS
We understand that on enrolment there is a wealth of information to read and understand, so each week, we will re share snippets to ensure clarity for all.
Yummy Stickers: Please return all part or full sheets of stickers to the school office by 16 September so we can redeem them for sports equipment for our school. Please remember to continue collecting these throughout the year. Thank you for your support.
Sports Uniforms: Please check your cupboards, under beds, drawers etc for any sports uniforms that belong to the school office. We have a lot not returned. Thank you
School Accounts: Please ensure your Term 3 ECF payments are paid by the end of Term.
Help! Help! Recycled Bottle House
We need more clear 1.25 litre and 2.25 litre bottles. If you have an interest in assisting with environmental projects please contact Mrs Ritchie who would love some support. We have a lot of projects and the Enviro Crew work most Tuesday and Thursday lunchtimes on projects.
Tennis Championships
Next term we will be holding our tennis competition. Seeking any parents out there that could potentially help referee and support this competition contact Mrs Ritchie.
