Dear Students and Families,
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Summer School will be from July,5th to August 2nd, and being held at Framingham High School. Classes are in session from morning (8:00 am -10:30) am and afternoon sessions (11:00 am -1:00 pm).
CREDIT PROVISIONS: At Framingham Summer Institute, students are able to take courses for either original or credit recovery. In order to receive credit recovery for a course, a student needs to have completed the full course during the school year and received a failing grade, and be referred by school administration
● For students at FHS, if a course not is offered at FHS, credit for an equivalent course will not be accepted from any other summer school.
● Non-residents must ask administrators at their schools in advance whether course credit will be approved and recognized.
Program breakdown
7:45 - 8:00 am - Breakfast
08:00 - 10:30 am - Course in the Morning
10:30 -11:00 am - Lunch
11:00 - 1:00 pm - Course in the Afternoon
ATTENDANCE
● Due to the limited number of class days and the intensity of the program, attendance to all classes is mandatory.
● No tuition will be refunded if a student is dropped or fails due to excessive absences or tardiness. THERE ARE NO EXCUSED ABSENCES. Students who exceed two absences may be removed from the program.
● Tardies and absences are subject to the discretion of the director.
STUDENT CONDUCT All students are expected to comply with the same rules of conduct that apply within the Framingham Schools during the regular school year. Attire may be comfortable, but should be keeping with the prevailing standards for school dress.
TUITION AND FEES
If student were referred for credit recovery they will not need pay tuition.
Students will receive email with classes they will need to take by school administration, however they will need to fill out the registration to guarantee the spot.
Tuition: Residents $250
Non-Residents $270
No refunds will be made after June 30,2020, unless the class is canceled.
TRANSPORTATION
UPDATE: 06/12 - Moving forward, if you need transportation, you will be added to the waiting list. However, it is not guaranteed that we will have a bus available.
We will offer transportation for FHS students. You will need to choose with timeframe/group are for the pick up time. Bus for morning classes will leave at 11:30 am or afternoon at 1:00 pm.
Students can choose to do two courses, or only one in the morning (8:00 - 10:30am):
FHS - Group 1: 7:45 am (Bus stop Assigned close to student home) - Wait in the library until FHS pick up - 11:30 am
FHS - Group 2: 7:45 am (Bus stop Assigned close to student home) - FHS pick up - 1:00 pm
REGISTRATION
You will receive academic credits for those that join and successfully complete this program, and final for grade need to be 59.5% or higher.
Please note: This course could be canceled due to lack of instructors or low student enrollment.

Medication Drop Off
During the first week of programming, our summer nurses will be collecting student medications. The school is open between 9 AM-3 PM for drop offs. For directions once inside please check-in at the front desk. Please coordinate with the nurses for pick up instructions.
COVID POLICY
We will follow the same procedure recommended for the Framingham Public School
Parents should remind their children daily of the importance of immediately reporting to staff any symptoms which begin while participating in our programs.
Families who report suspected coronavirus symptoms should make every effort to be tested for the virus within 24 hours and should not return to programming until they receive positive confirmation of a negative COVID-19 test and their original symptoms have subsided.
Any child who tests positive for COVID-19 should remain at home in isolation and/or follow the medical advice of their physician with regards to self-care or supportive care to treat and manage their symptoms.
A call home might also be warranted if a child begins to show 2 or more symptoms of the following: cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, chills, repeated shaking w/chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or loss of taste and smell. I
