Senior Week!
Dear Atholton Families,
Did you enjoy the heatwave this weekend? It certainly took some adjusting as temperatures soared into the 90s. I hope you were able to remain cool and enjoy the warm weather. The Class of 2022 enjoyed the nice weather at their class picnic held this past Thursday. Thank you to all of the parents who supported the picnic and donated items. It was nice to see our seniors outside enjoying the great weather and the company of their classmates.
This week is the LAST week for our seniors. Senior exams begin tomorrow with periods 5 and 6 and our day will start with a senior class meeting during period 1. Please refer to the schedule below for all senior activities and exams this week. Seniors MUST sit for their final exam at the designated time. As we gear up for graduation, a reminder that ALL outstanding obligations MUST be cleared before graduation tickets will be issued. Tickets will be distributed Tuesday and Wednesday this week as Chromebooks and chargers are collected. The deadline to request additional tickets is tomorrow, May 23. No additional tickets will be issued after this date. Each student is allocated TEN tickets for the commencement ceremony.
I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you our school date regarding COVID-19 infections. We have been struggling to get this information out to you as our health assistant resigned at the beginning of this month. Our school nurse, Ms. Eggerl has done an outstanding job managing our health room alone during this difficult time. Since May 1, Atholton has had 46 positive student cases and 8 positive staff cases. We have had one outbreak scenario where those families impacted were contacted by the school nurse. Moving forward, with additional help provided for our school nurse, updates will go out weekly regarding positive cases here at Atholton.
Lastly, schedules for the end of the school year have been finalized. First, on graduation day – JUNE 2, there will be an early dismissal for ALL STUDENTS at 10 AM. You will find that schedule below. We will have two periods on June 2 – periods 4A and 4B. Second, the final exam schedule for our 9th - 11th graders has been finalized. Below is the final exam schedule for the last four days of school (June 14 - June 17).
P.S. -- Thank you to everyone who supported the PTSA's Concert to Cancel Cancer yesterday evening!
Have a terrific week!
Warmest regards,
Robert A. Motley
Principal
