Sunday Scaries are No Joke
Hey, Raiders. Sunday Scaries happen and many of us, staff included, have them. We know it can be hard to get to school on Mondays. So what do we do about them? There are many healthy things you can do to help manage those feelings. Here are just a few to get you started:
Acknowledge those feelings even though you may want to pretend they are not happening.
Talk to a friend, staff member or family member about them. Just talking about them will sometimes make them less scary.
Get to work. Look at your week ahead and organize those tasks and activities that you are anticipating. When you put it on paper or the notes in your phone, you realize the week ahead is not as intimidating as you think.
Do a brain dump. Dumping all your concerns, tasks, etc. will let you sleep better and feel ready for Monday.
Put something positive in your Monday schedule so you have something to look forward to after you complete that test or task that you may feel anxious about.
Reward yourself for managing those Sunday Scaries and taking responsibility for your actions. Success builds success, Raiders!
If your feelings are so overwhelming that they are keeping you from doing things you like doing and keeping you from school, please reach out to your parent, guardian, or school staff for help.

Reminder for Parents/Guardians - Student Drop Off
Parents who are dropping students off at school in the morning should use the parking lot lane closest to the building. Please do not park in in a space and wait to drop your student off. Unfortunately, parking is very limited for both students and staff. Utilizing extra parking spaces for this purpose can create an issue where there is nowhere for staff or student drivers to park. Additionally, please do not drive down the middle parking lot lane in order to drop a student at school. We appreciate your help!
Reminder: Students, make sure your laptop is charged each day!
Students, please make sure your laptop is charged each day. Bring your charger to school in case your battery runs out.
