The Board of Education provides a "Board Meeting Summary" after each Board meeting. The summary includes a brief description of the main topics and action items. These summaries are not meant to replace minutes. The minutes for each meeting are approved and posted after the next regularly scheduled meeting. We hope these summaries provide some basic information and context around the reports, presentations and action items. NOTE: In the interest of safety for Board and staff members, as well as the school community, the meeting format was adjusted. Due to current Executive Order requirements social distancing guidelines were in effect.

2020-2021 District 41 Reopening Schools Plan Update

• Superintendent’s Report | watch
  Superintendent Kaczkwoski shared that the covid numbers in DuPage County are not moving in the right direction. She shared that it is expected that the county could reach red/substantial status this week. She shared that the district will continue to communicate updates.

• Pandemic Response Advisory Team (PRAT) Update | watch

  Parents and PRAT members Katie Adduci and Ellen Dickey provided an overview of the covid metrics to date. They shared that the data tells us that the community needs to continue to be diligent about wearing masks and social distancing.

• Covid Saliva Testing Program | watch
  Math­ew Philip, MD, Chief Innovation Officer, DuPage Medical Group, presented about a Covid-19 Rapid Saliva-Based Test Program. He informed that Board that he is beginning to engage with school districts to emphasize the need to prioritize testing in schools. Board members asked questions and engaged in conversation about the possibility of District 41 participating in this type of program.
  
• IEP and 504 Plan Update | watch

  Director of Student Services Laurel O’Brien presented an update about the planning

  for students who have IEPs and 504 Plans.

• Staffing Update | watch
  Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources Marci Conlin shared that we have some additional staff hires due to the transition to the blended model.
