To all of our Veterans past and present, we thank you for your service. Our students were so well-mannered and respectful to our guest at the Veterans assembly on Wednesday. The Jacksonville High School orchestra, Northside High School ROTC and the Purple Heart did a fantastic job presenting to our students an understanding of why we celebrate and honor our Veterans.
Monday, November 13 is World Kindness Day, staff and students wear yellow to show you are kind to others
Our 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students will take their math SchoolNet benchmark assessment on Monday, November 13 and reading on Tuesday, November 14
Our First Nine Weeks Awards will be on Wednesday, November 15. Your child's teacher will inform you if your child is receiving an award, so that you can be in attendance.
Wednesday, November 15 is Early Release Day for students. Car riders and walkers dismiss at 12:15 and bus riders dismiss at 12:30.

PTO is selling raffle tickets for $5 for a voucher to win a free cooked Thanksgiving meal for a party of five from Mike's Farm. They will be selling tickets in front of the office in the morning starting on Monday. There will be a staff winner and a student winner.
We will have Parent Volunteer Trainings on November 15, 21 29 at 8:00 and 12:00. If another date and time works better for you, please call the front office to schedule your training.
Our Habits of Mind Celebration Friday, November 17 Students who have had good behavior for the nine weeks will be able to attend this special Glow in the Dark celebration.
Medications must be brought to school by an adult with a medication administration form. No medicated Chapstick is allowed at school. It is important for your child to stay well hydrated, have a proper diet and plenty of rest to help your child fight off any viruses.

New Onslow County Policy:
For the safety of our students, no vehicles are to be on campus more that 30 minutes prior to dismissal. Dismissal starts at 3:15; therefore, cars should not be parked for dismissal prior to 2:45. Please drive slowly when arriving on campus. There will be five orange cones placed for each car to stop, so students can be let out by a staff member. You will pull forward and a staff member will load your child. Staff members will not buckle your child in their seat; however, they will open the car door for them.
Edulog's Bus Transportation
If you have questions regarding buses (bus number, bus stop location, pickup/drop off time) please use the Edulog Parent App on your Smartphone. You will need your child's Powerschool number in order to set up an account and access the bus information. Your child's teacher will have your child's Powerschool number at Orientation.

* Parent Teacher Organization: This group meets in person and sends in special treats for staff throughout the year
* Parent Volunteer: Parents have to be volunteered trained each year and fingerprinted at the district office every five years
* Room Parent: Assists the teacher with various things for the classroom
* Strategic Planning Team: School stakeholders (parents, teachers, administration) work together to improve the school
