A Note from Dr. Miles
Good morning Parents and Guardians!
First, I want to acknowledge our wonderful teachers who have been working diligently this month assessing students and maintaining a great atmosphere in the school. I have to be honest, this month has not been easy; the FID days, the closure, schedule switches etc. As the SUPER PROUD PRINCIPAL of King's Highway, OUR TEACHERS ARE ABSOLUTELY AWESOME and I request and encourage that you flood their emails and Class Dojo messages with words of encouragement, gratitude, happiness, and any other words that are FULL of POSITIVITY. They are so deserving of this small token of appreciation and SO MUCH MORE! For all they give to our students each day let's give back to them this week! I will start it off:
To all my teachers from K-5, including special education, special areas and related arts
I give it all to you for the non-stop outpouring of yourselves each and every day.
You work so hard to make sure our little scholars get all they need to be the best they can be.
This also includes the nurse, the school psych, the counselor, related services, ELL, and the behavior team. YOU ALL go "all out" at times to show our students so much care, love, and support they need. What you do daily does NOT go unnoticed and I APPRECIATE YOU more than you know!
I am in anticipation to see what how the students' middle of the year results look like by grade and how they have increased from the beginning of the year.
ABSENCES: Please be reminded that when your child is absent, you must have an written excuse when they return. The excuse can be emailed to Ms. Kenisha Archey-Cole at archeycolek@casdschools.org. The noted must be given within 3 days of the absence or it will be marked as illegal. Too many illegal absences will be cause for holding a Student Attendance Improvement Plan (SAIP) meeting. Once this meeting is conducted and there is no improvement with attendance you can be cited for truancy.
Now that the two teams have been declared for the Superbowl, which one are you going for:
San Francisco 49ers or Kansas City Chiefs? Click the link to make your vote count: Super Bowl LXIII
Kind regards,
Dr. Miles
