Weekly News and Updates - Volume 2 Issue 26 - 3/11/22
Our Growing Nest
The Fletcher nest grew by five this week as we welcomed in our newest students, refugees from Afghanistan, and their wonderful interpreter, Ms. Rabia. Their day started off with an expertly curated tour from our Fletcher Influencers (student leaders), Zita and Marvell. Our students and staff opened their arms and hearts as the #smallschoolbigfamily grew a little bigger.
This week, our teaching staff continued to work on finalizing the second trimester grades and reaching out to families for student conference scheduling. As a reminder, student conferences are the week of March 21-25th. Every day that week is a minimum day. Conferences are not limited to this week. Your student's teacher may reach out to schedule a conference earlier.
Lastly, we are thrilled to celebrate the unanimous selection of Dr. Lamont Jackson as the official Superintendent of San Diego Unified School District. Dr. Jackson visited Fletcher earlier in the year to meet with students and staff. The most memorable moment of that visit was when he took the tie off his neck and handed it to a 3rd grader who he made promise to wear the tie when he's selected in the NFL draft.

Student of the Week - Khloe!
This week's Student of the Week is Khloe in Ms. Wee's class. Khloe is someone that always demonstrates positive attitude in all aspects of learning. She has especially been working so hard to improve her English, and we can all see how much growth she has made since she joined our class in October. Khloe is here almost every day, ready to learn. She takes responsibility for her learning by always asking questions and staying open to continuous learning. She is constantly looking for more ways to grow. Khloe is loved by her classmates and they are all so happy to have her as a part of the group. All of us cannot wait to see how much more she will accomplish from now until the end of the school year!
Congratulations Khloe, and thank you for being a phenomenal Falcon!
