Advising
Important Deadlines
Regular Academic Session Courses (01/10/2024 - 05/01/2024):
- 2/1/2024 - Last day to apply for Spring degree candidacy without a late fee.
- 2/7/2024 - Instructor's and dean's signatures are required on a Change of Schedule form to change from pass/fail to regular grades or vice versa.
Seven Week First Session Courses (01/10/2024 - 03/01/2024):
- 2/6/2024 - Instructor's and dean's signatures are required on all Change of Schedule forms to ADD or CHANGE classes.
- 2/13/2024 - Last day to file for Grade Replacement Opportunity (GRO). Last day for students to withdraw from a class online through UAccess.
- 2/14/2024 - Instructor and dean's signatures required on a Late Change Petition in order to withdraw from class and students must have an extraordinary reason for approval.
- 2/20/2024 - Last day for students to submit a Late Change Petition to their college.

Interested in joining Psi Chi International Honor Society?
Hello everyone,
My name is Ava Goldstein, the president of Psi Chi, the Psychology Honors Society at U of A for the 2023-2024 year. I hope everyone is having a great first few weeks of classes. With spring applications open, I would like to invite anyone with a Psychology and Psychological Science major or minor to apply to Psi Chi. Psi Chi is a psychology honor society that provides opportunities for networking, professional development, volunteer opportunities, and access to lifetime membership to Psi Chi International.
You may be eligible for Psi Chi if you have completed at least three semesters of college, have at least 9 psychology credits, and your GPA is in the top 35% of your class. In Fall 2023, the GPAs in the top 35% percent were at least a 3.7. If you are interested in applying, click the link below to fill out the application by Friday, February 2nd at 11:59 MST! Afterward, please send a copy of your advisement report, which can be found on UAccess, to uapsichi@gmail.com.

Members are expected to attend three Psi Chi events per semester to remain active and pay chapter dues. The dues are $75 for new members and $20 for every semester to follow.

Looking to be a Research Assistant?
Be a Research Assistant for the Imaginative Thought Study
Are you interested in how we remember and think about our lives? Do people have more of a mind's mind (verbal or auditory form of imagination) or mind's eye (visual form of imagination)? Are you in need of directed research units? I am hoping to recruit a student who has a strong interest in research and is able to commit at least 9 hours a week for one year minimum (ideally more) and can start this Spring and can work Summer and Fall of 2024. A Center's Health Professions Expo 2024
The A Center is excited to bring the 2024 Health Professions Expo back to in-person this year:
- Many medical schools and health professional schools from Arizona and beyond will be present to speak with students about any questions they have!
- The NEW Physician Assistant and Physical Therapy Programs, along with the many other graduate or medical professions at UArizona, will be attending to speak about their programs!
- Students can compare the many options of how to prepare for the MCAT and/or GRE by speaking directly with representatives from Think Tank, Kaplan, Princeton Review, and Blueprint!
- Various organizations that offer clinical and volunteer opportunities for students wishing to pursue a health profession will be there!
- Student clubs representing various heath professions will also be available!
Interested in a two-year, fully funded post-baccalaureate program in neuroscience and cognitive science at MIT?
Outstanding graduating seniors or recent college graduates who plan to pursue a research career in neuroscience or cognitive science are encouraged to apply to our two-year, fully funded post-baccalaureate program.
The program is designed to provide additional research and academic training to individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds who are preparing to apply to PhD programs.
Participants will conduct cutting-edge supervised research in a lab at MIT, and will have the opportunity to take courses at MIT, while gaining the knowledge and experience necessary to become competitive PhD applicants and successful graduate students.
Physics, math, psychology, engineering and computer science majors who are interested in the brain and/or cognitive sciences are welcome to apply.
Participants receive a highly competitive stipend, health benefits and tuition remission. The stipend is matched to that of PhD students in the department.

Volunteer Opportunity at the Tucson Festival of Books March 9 & 10, 2024
Dear Psychology Students,
The Psychology Department is excited to share we will have a table at Science City at this years Tucson Festival of Books happening March 9th & 10th! Our table will be called "Practice managing your emotions and reducing your stress."
Please consider volunteering for a two-hour shift to help us staff the table – this is a great volunteer experience to add to your resume and CV!
A few things to note:
- This event takes place at the end of Spring Break (March 9th and 10th).
- Brief training session prior to the event will be required
- Blocks of 2 hour shifts available (more than one shift can be completed)
- You may lead a mindfulness exercise (optional)
