On the Horizon
VUHS October 6th, 2023
Principal Message
Even though we have a short week of school ahead of us it ends with school pictures. At this point, every student should have received a charger for their computer. If you have not received a charger please let your morning meeting teacher know so that they can help make sure that happens. We do have some loaner computers for students whose computer has a broken screen or has completely stopped working we do not have loaner computers for students whose computer has not been charged. Please make sure you are charging your computers at night.
To increase our safety measures we are asking that all students and staff go in and out through the front door. Overall students have done well with this change. We understand that sometimes someone has left a binder or a notebook out in their car. We do allow students to go out to their cars if they check in with the main office and use the front door. Thank you for all of your support in these changes.
Picture Day is this Friday. Flyers were handed out on Friday of last week but you can also buy pictures online if that is easier for you.

Nurse Announcements
As cold and flu season arrives, please remember that students must be fever, vomit & diarrhea free for 24 hours without the aid of medication before they return to school after an illness. COVID-19 is still among us, so please continue to test if you have symptoms. We do have a limited supply of tests. If your student is symptomatic and you would like a test, please contact your school nurse. Our nurses will use their clinical judgment and discretion to determine if a student is well enough to remain in school or be sent home. If a student or staff member is not well enough to learn or participate, regardless of whether they are tested for COVID-19, they will be sent home from school. If your student does test positive, contact your school nurse for return to school information. Please refer to the Student and Family Handbook for more details.
