Thrive @ Cornell
Newsletter Supporting Your Health and Well-Being
Tuesday, March 29, 2022
Dear Community,
We've made it to the final push before Spring Break! In anticipation of next week, we offer the helpful Japanese custom of hanami (i.e., "flower viewing"), an annual tradition where people gather to ponder, celebrate, and admire the breathtaking and fleeting beauty of the cherry blossom blooms, which only last for a few days. Similarly, we invite you to take a moment to create small meaningful moments to pause, have fun, and experience awe next week. If you're traveling for spring break OR staying in Ithaca, here are some ideas:
- Enjoy waking up slowly one morning
- Savor a meal
- Indulge in a long conversation with a friend
- Move your body to music
- Catch up on your favorite book or show (e.g., watch the 2022 Oscar winning films)
- Take five minutes and declutter a small space (e.g., backpack)
- Get outside and enjoy nature
Wishing you a joyful, meaningful, and restorative Spring Break.
In community,
