Health and Wellness Reminder
Dear Families,
If your child is home ill, we will ask you to share the child's illness and symptoms for your child's safety and the safety of the Crocker school community. It's important to email crockerabsence@hcsdk8.org or call 342-6331 for student absences, appointments, tardies, etc. If you have any questions, please email Marianne Saucedo at msaucedo@hcsdk8.org.
Sometimes when your child does not feel well, it isn't easy to decide whether or not to send the child to school. Here are some guidelines to follow:
Know the Signs & Symptoms and When to Stay Home (PRF Pg. 9-10)
Stay Home When Sick and Get Tested. The CDPH notes that getting tested for COVID-19 when symptoms are consistent with COVID-19 will help with rapid contact tracing and prevent the possible spread at schools. CDPH recommends the following:
Students with symptoms of COVID-19 infection should not return for in-person instruction until they have met these criteria:
At least 24 hours have passed since the resolution of fever (100.4) and higher without the use of fever-reducing medications; and
Other symptoms have improved; and
They have a negative COVID-19 test, OR a healthcare provider has provided documentation that the symptoms are typical of their underlying chronic condition (e.g., allergies or asthma) OR a healthcare provider has confirmed an alternative named diagnosis (e.g., Streptococcal pharyngitis, Coxsackie virus), OR at least 10 days have passed since symptom onset.
