PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Hello Sutter families,
Happy New Year! January 2nd marks the beginning of our second semester and we look forward to working toward great accomplishments during the second half of the school year. This month students will continue to focus on the Cougar trait Responsibility, and students who were nominated for demonstrating Respect for the month of November will receive a pancake breakfast.
We are very proud of the amazing events that will occur this month. We thank our Sutter Middle School PTA for supporting our PBIS program by hosting Popcorn Friday, January 5th. In addition, PTA will host breakfast for our outstanding teachers on January 5th, and PTA will support our Student Store on January 10th.
We look forward to girlsβ basketball and boysβ soccer beginning this month, as our scholar athletes prepare for a great season. Along with cheering on our great athletes, we will support our scholar musicians as they perform in the Folsom Jazz Fest in Folsom and the CASMEC Convention in Sacramento.
Lastly, We urge you to attend our next Cougar CafΓ© Meeting Wednesday, January 17th, as our counselors and our MFT will give a presentation on helpful tips for students' success, and we will provide time to gather feedback about this school year. Here is to a fantastic month of January!
Sincerely,
Tarik McFall

VOLUNTEER AT SMS
Our process is now online!
Step 1: Complete the βonlineβ volunteer application. Please note that TB tests must have been completed in the past 60 days. You can visit your physician for this assessment or you can attend one of the courtesy TB Test Clinics sponsored by FCUSD. You can find the list of scheduled clinics here.
Step 2: If you are applying to be a Category 2 Volunteer, you will need to complete a live-scan fingerprinting for DOJ criminal background clearance. You must obtain a FCUSD issued live scan form from the school office to complete the fingerprinting process with a third party. Please contact your parent coordinator for this form. This is REQUIRED regardless if you have had a Live Scan done for another district. This cost is not covered by the District. If you have previously had fingerprints processed for FCUSD, you DO NOT need to process them again unless otherwise directed.
Click on this link to complete your volunteer application.
Please contact our parent coordinator, Mona Noel - mnoel@fcusd.org, for more information.
Thank you again for supporting our schools!
