Dear Lake Shore Families,
Lake Shore staff and students are off to a great start and running strong in our classes and extracurricular activities! Boys and girls cross country have competed in their first meet, and girls basketball is off to a strong start. We are completing our Fall MAP testing this week, and will begin the process of using those results to inform our instruction.
Recent highlights at Lake Shore include our Curriculum Night, which provided parents with an opportunity to meet their students’ teachers. Also, our PTO is planning for an impactful school year, starting with our Carnival, which we will be celebrating after school on Thursday, 9/26. Please have your student sign up!
Here are a few items of note:
Drop Off
Thank you for working with us to make the drop-off process smoother and safer for everyone! By inviting the students into the building at 7:30, we have been able to successfully reduce the wait times and congestion in the line. Thank you for your input and participation!
After-school spectators
If you student is attending after school events, please know that we have event expectations for all attendees, which include:
Being only in designated areas (i.e. gym)
Cheering for your team, not against the other team
Using the bathroom one-at-a-time
Absolutely NO phones or cameras in the locker room or bathroom
No reentry after leaving the event
PTO
Please visit the PTO link in our Lake Shore Middle School website to find information on PTO membership, upcoming meetings and events, and fundraising opportunities.
Progress Reports
On September 30, 2024 we will be sending 20 day progress reports to students earning Ds and Fs in any of their classes. Please keep up with your students’ progress through Infinite Campus and their academic content through their teachers’ Canvas pages.
Thank you for your continued support and encouragement. We love our students and appreciate your partnership in their growth and achievement!
Sincerely,
Mr Jeff Haubenreich

RAIDER FUND- “UN-FUNDRAISER”
No time to volunteer? No time to bake? Tired of buying and selling cookie dough
and gift wrap? The RAIDER FUND is for you!
The Raider Fund is an un-fundraiser--meaning, we are simply asking for monetary
donations--no selling. The money raised from the Raider Fund directly reduces the cost of
school events such as Carnival, The Haunt, Bowling, Tubing, Greek Olympics, 6th grade
Greek Olympics, the 8th Grade Promotion, Staff Appreciation events, as well as provides
classroom funds and mini-grants for our dedicated teachers and staff. We are also hoping to
fund some new comfy lobby furniture for the kids to use while they congregate after drop off before
school starts!!! Please consider donating to help make that happen!
You may donate to the fundraiser by clicking here: Raider Fund Donation, then go to “Store”
and select Raider Fund or drop off a check in the Main Office. We hope you’ll consider a
suggested donation of $100 per family, but please know that any donation and in any
amount, big or small, will help us achieve our goal and is greatly appreciated!

Bags in Backpacks- Meal Program
Family Sharing would like to share an opportunity for your child(ren) called "Bags in Backpacks." This program provides an entire weekend supply of nutritious food for a child when school lunch and breakfast are unavailable on weekends. Each food bag provided to each child who opts in, contains a variety of food, including yogurt, cheese sticks, sandwiches, and fruit.
All food is provided to children free of charge and it is our hope that these resources will support healthy eating habits for those students who need this program. Bags in Backpacks are confidential, with only the building Principal/Social Emotional Coach/Office knowing who chooses to opt into the program. If you are interested in participating, all you need to do is contact me, Ms. Sundar at 262- 238-7657 or bsundararajan@mtsd.k12.wi.us
Your child will be instructed to pick up the bag each Friday afternoon before dismissal from the office.
If you sign up initially but later decide that you want to opt-out, all you would need to do is let me know I will take your name off the list.
Last year we had around 15 Lake Shore families who signed up for this program.
We will begin this program here at Lake Shore on Friday, September 20th.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Sincerely,
Beula Sundararajan
Student Absences
All Absences need to be called into the office for each child, every day.
Parents are encouraged to submit absence requests for their student/s through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. This new process is meant to take the place of submitting student absences via phone or email and, once fully implemented, will provide a more quick and efficient way to manage your student/s' attendance.
Other options are:
email lakeshoreattendance@mtsd.k12.wi.us OR
call 262-238-7600 press 1
As a reminder, per Wisconsin state statutes, a student is allowed to accumulate 10 excused absences during a school year before any subsequent absences become unexcused, regardless of parent/guardian permission. The 10 total excused absences can be for any reason, including illness or vacation. However, illness-related absences that are accompanied by a doctor's note do NOT count towards the 10-day excused absence limit. Please click here for more on MTSD student attendance guidelines.
