The last day of school for Byam students is Friday, June 17. This day is on an early release schedule and will dismissal will be at 11:45 am. Please note that due to the power outage earlier in the year, Byam is going one day longer than the other Chelmsford schools.

Our rescheduled date for kindergarten Field Day is Tuesday, June 14. Please use the link below if you'd like to volunteer.

We had wonderful weather and a fun day celebrating our 4th graders. Thank you to all the volunteers that made this day a memorable one for our students who will be moving on the middle school next year!

What does Mrs. Driscoll love even more (if that's even possible) than going to the Chelmsford Public Library? Having the Chelmsford Public Library come to us! Sara Dempster, the Head of Youth Services and Marty Mason, Youth Services Librarian from the Chelmsford Public Library have been coming to each 2nd and 4th grade class to read stories, tell students about the Summer Reading Program and answer questions about the wide range of FREE services available at CPL. Ask your kids what kinds of "things" you can borrow from the Library of Things. We've loved having them visit and we look forward to more opportunities to collaborate and celebrate libraries together!

*Please check with your child's teacher for specific dates about grade level events, performances, and celebrations! We have a lot happening at Byam in the month of June!

Report cards will be open in the X2 Family Portal in the afternoon of Friday, June 17. You will receive an email from Mrs. Murphy with a link to access the portal. If you require a paper copy, please email her at murphys@chelmsford.k12.ma.us.

Families will be receiving teacher placements by July 1st via email as well as by mail. These placements will include a welcome letter from each teacher. Students will be meeting each grade level team next week so that they will be able to connect a face with a name when the receive their teacher letter this summer.

If medication is kept at school for your child, please be advised that the end-of-year Medication Pick Up will be on the last day of school between 8:00-11:30am and then between 1:00-4:30pm.

There is NO pick up of medication during dismissal. Medication not picked up by 4:30pm will be disposed of per district protocol.

1st Grade Books and Blankets Literacy Event.... and Billy Goats Gruff

Our first graders had a wonderful celebration of reading! They treated families to performance of Billy Goats Gruff and a picnic lunch. We wanted to take a moment to say again how important it is that your child continues to practice reading over the summer. Just a few minutes of practice each day will go a long way towards ensuring a smooth transition in the fall.

Kindergarten Tulip Celebrations

Our Kindergarteners celebrated their first year of Byam with time outside spent singing songs and performing their Tulip play! Students loved seeing their families smile down at them from the natural amphitheater on the grass.

4th Grade Visits to Parker and McCarthy

Our graduating 4th graders went on a field trip to their future middle school on Wednesday morning! They came back to Byam wearing smiles, and new middle school t-shirts, exclaiming "my new school is so big!".
