We have 10 days until winter break. Here are some fun kindness challenge ideas for the students! They will bring home a calendar tomorrow that they can check off at home if you want to play along.

Day 1- Give someone a compliment

Day 2- Hug a friend (but ask them first if it's ok)

Day 3- Pick up litter on the playground or outside the school

Day 4- Leave a nice note on someone's desk

Day 5- If you see a coat on the ground, hang it back up

Day 6- Hold the door for someone else

Day 7- Say thank you to the lunch ladies

Day 8- Make a nice card for your teachers

Day 9- Do a chore for someone in your family

Day 10- Share a candycane with a friend

MONDAY- LONG WINTER'S NAP: Ease into Monday with Pajama Day

TUESDAY- TREE TOPPER TUESDAY: Wear your favorite holiday headgear. Stocking hats, santa hats, and reindeer headbands are just a few of your fun options!

WEDNESDAY- CANDY CANES TO CARRY YOU THROUGH: wear as much red and white as you can

THURSDAY- CHANNEL THE FLANNEL: wear your choice of plaid or flannel

FRIDAY- HOLIDAY SWEATER: wear your favorite holiday sweater/shirt

Parent Advisory Council is held three times a year. Mrs. Cole will share about the strategic plan our work has been focused on this year, the results of our staff engagement survey and our student engagement survey, and will seek parent feedback on how we can continually improve student and families experience at Valerius.

Our first meeting will be Monday, December 16th from 6:30-7:30pm in the Valerius Media Center.
