STARS FOOTBALL EXTRA POINTS
FINALS WEEK AND WINTER BREAK
TRUE NORTH
Ten years ago, our 2013 class developed the True North mentality. Each point on the 5-pointed star is recognized to represent one belief that our program will be built on. Each point on the star is equal to the one before it. The values of Leadership, Investment, Selflessness, Accountability, and Preparation make up our North Star. In the center of the completed stars lies the T.E.A.M. For the past ten seasons and every moment in between, we have remained consistent in our steadfast belief in these five values. They are our "True North". These beliefs will be our compass in all we do as a program on and off the field. Much like the Northstar in maritime days, we will use our "True North" as the compass we will follow in the journey to the elite. I am proud of these words and what they mean. I have seen them transform lives, including my own. I hope you can share in our "True North" philosophy and discuss these values with your son or daughter as much as possible.

Message from Coach Pomazak
Stars Family -
The final countdown! We are so close to finish line. As I tell our kids, let's finish this leg of the race with the same energy we want to start the next! While we are all a little worse for the wear, the journey has made us stronger than ever before. With finals and the holidays coming quickly, prioritizing and focusing on the essentials will be necessary. On the front end of the week, we will be running business as usual with our lifting schedule. The goal is to get two quality sessions in before we stop for the year. I want our student-athletes to switch their focus to their finals then. I know our kids are stressed, and I want to support them as best I can. Physical activity is a great stress reducer, allowing them to manage time and be accountable for academics and athletics. We have discussed how our finals culminate our process over the past four months. It is an excellent reminder that if we take care of business on the front end, day in and day out, we will be rewarded when the chips are down.
Finally, thank the parents and players who attended the Toys for Tots event this past Friday. We had a fantastic group that took care of business in short order. While much of the work was already done, the message we received from the organizer was worth it. He reminded us that often when the job is almost done, most people stop helping and leave the final heaving lifting for just a few to do. However, that is when the most help is needed. I related this to our journey as a football family, and so often, either after a game or practice when everyone is tired is when we need the most hands to make sure we are cleaned up and ready for the next day. It reinforces our mindset that "many hands make light work." This newsletter will cover this week and the holiday break. I wish all of you the very best this holiday season. From the bottom of my heart, thank you! I am eternally grateful to have this opportunity to work alongside all of you.
Happy Holidays and Happy New Year
See you in 2024
True North

To help assist our program and build our athletes during the winter sports performance season we are asking our families to help assist us in providing recovery options for consumption. After each workout we would like to provide our varsity athletes with easy calories to help replensish their systems. Our program will be purchasing Muscle Milk and Gatorade recovery but we would also appreciate donations made so that we can provide a variety of options and ensure we have enough quantity in stock.
