Rememberance Day Ceremony
Highlights of the Week
We had a short week this week, as the staff had a professional development day on Thursday and a non-operational day on Friday. I hope the students are able to recharge their batteries as we make a final push towards Christmas.
I would like the opportunity to introduce to our families Mr. Drew Neilson, who has been hired for the temporary grade 5-9 humanities position. Mr. Neilson comes to our school with many years of experience, and in the last couple weeks has built positive relationships with students and staff.
On Wednesday the students and staff participated in a Rememberance Day Ceremony. It is important for our students to learn about the sacrifices that were made in the past so that we can experience the freedoms that we have in Canada. A special thank you to Constable Witmer and local Veteran Doug Kenner for joining us. It was touching to see our junior highs line up to shake Mr. Kenner's hand at the end of the ceremony to thank him.
Thursday the staff had a professional development day. These days allows us to collaborate as a staff to discuss how to best meet the learning needs of our students, as well as participate in a division-wide professional development focusing on the science of reading.

Student of the Week - Micheal Reid
Micheal demonstrated great commitment to his own growth and learning this week. He voluntarily took on extra work to raise his grades and improve is an area of need. This strong work ethic and growth mindset all serve him well throughout school and life. Great work, Micheal!
Student of the Week - Katrina Siemens
Katrina demonstrated great leadership and kindness to her teammates during this weeks exhibition volleyball game. Even during a close, tough match, Katrina continued to encourage her younger teammates on and of the court. Great work, Katrina!
Operation Christmas Child Shoebox
The school is excited to collaborate once again with Sharon Lutheran Church to pack Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes. The school supports the project is by writing letters, providing the man power to pack the boxes and supplying a toy for each box. Our Parent Council also makes a donation for shipping the boxes.
We are asking families, if they are able, to donate a toy to put in the box your child packed. If you child is unable to bring a toy, please email Mrs. Siemens (jsiemens@clearview.ab.ca), as we will ensure that each child has a toy for their shoebox.
Toy Guidelines:
- Must be able to fit in shoebox
- No war related items
- No liquids or gels
