Teacher Appreciation Week
Thank you to CLF, CMIT PTO, Parents, and Students that contributed to this year's Teacher Appreciation Week. This year we had a travel theme, "It's plane to see we have the best teachers in the world".
We began with a Pre-Boarding breakfast on Monday and then traveled to Italy with a PTO providing lunch of lasagna, fettuccine, and garlic bread on Tuesday.
On Wednesday Flight Attendants (Admin) provided In-Flight Snacks to teachers followed by a stop in India on Thursday with curry wraps for lunch.
The week ended with a layover in the Caribbean with tropical smoothies and some relaxation in the CLF-provided massage chair.
We truly do have the best teachers at CMIT North Middle School!
CMIT's March Teacher of the Month - Mrs. Curry!
Congratulations to Mrs. Danielle Curry, CMIT North Middle School March Teacher of the Month!
Students are given an opportunity to vote each month to select a teacher that portrays the following qualities:
1. Creates a positive learning environment.
2. Shows caring toward students.
3. Helped you out in a difficult situation.
4. Made the learning engaging, interesting, and fun.
Here are some of the reasons students voted for Mrs. Curry:
"She's amazing and a chill teacher and the way she teaches is really amazing"
"I believe that Ms. Curry deserves to be Teacher of the Month because she is a very easy-going cool teacher."
"She dresses the best, she's funny, she's caring"
Congratulations Mrs. Curry! WELL DONE!
Welcome Ms. Graham and Ms. Thigpen!
Hello, my name is Celina Graham and I am a new paraprofessional at CMIT Middle School.
I and Ms.Thigpen will be working closely with your scholar to achieve excellence. I look forward to working with you and getting to know your scholar and helping them succeed in their education. I am excited to be part of an amazing team.
Please feel free to share any information you feel will benefit your child! My email is Celina2.graham@pgcps.org. I can't wait to meet you all.
My name is Ms. Michelle Thigpen and I am a new paraprofessional here at CMIT.
I recently graduated from Morgan State University in May of 2021 with a B.S. degree in Multiplatform Production and was an active member of NABJ MSU chapter and the Alpha Gamma chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated.
My background as an avid writer and journalist, play a role in my mindset that we must seek answers for everything in question, fact-check, and never leave a stone unturned.
My experience as a first-generation four-year college graduate has shaped my mindset that the most important thing that any adult can do is pay it forward by investing in the education of our youth and making sure that they are passed the torch of wisdom and curiosity.
Ms. Graham and I will be working together in the blended learning classroom to ensure that students have a safe zone to see assignments through and be collaborative. I am looking forward to my time at CMIT and hope to be impactful and keep the children engaged.
My email is michelle.thigpen@pgcps.org should you need to reach me.
