Good Afternoon Washington Families!
Thank you all for participating in parent teacher conferences. We had a great turn out and appreciate your willingness to partner with us this school year. Please continue to reach out with any questions or thoughts you have throughout the year! We are excited to see the growth and progression each child makes as the year continues.
Healthy Choices Week starts Monday. This is a fun week to learn about healthy choices and dress up. We will wear our costumes on Tuesday, October 31st. Please don't send your child with fake weapons of any kind, masks or face paint. All costumes need to be school appropriate and follow district dress code.
"Costumes must be culturally sensitive in nature and should be respectful of the backgrounds and heritage of others. What might seem like a harmless and fun costume can be highly offensive to students and/or groups of students. Ethnic, religious, and various other themed costumes that serve as stereotypes of groups are not appropriate and do not reflect the respect for all people that we wish to embody at Norman Public Schools. Please be thoughtful in your costume choices and reach out to your teacher, principal or counselor before the big day if you have any questions about what might or might not be appropriate."
Book Fair starts Monday, Oct. 30th - Nov. 2nd. We are looking for volunteers to help checkout students at the fair. Scholastic sends a scanner and it is very easy to manage. If you are available to help please go to the following link to sign up.
October 10th - October 19th: Our 4th and 5th grades participated in the MEE competition this year. (The MEE competition is a program designed to recognize student achievement in acquiring and applying knowledge in economics, entrepreneurship, and personal finance. The competition is sponsored by the Oklahoma Council on Economic Education.) All students completed rounds 1 and 2 of the competition and we will hear by Nov 1st which teams will qualify for the final round at UCO on Nov. 14.

Does your student need medication at school ? The Medication Request and Release form 2023-2024 will need to be filled out annually to administer ANY medication to your student at school. This includes cough drops, inhalers, OTC (age appropriate) , and prescription medications ! If you have any questions, please call the school at 405-366-5984 and ask for Shannon.
