This year’s concerts are being live streamed and can also be found on demand by clicking on the SCS-TV shortcut on the District’s main webpage at www.strongnet.org. This week’s ‘60 Seconds with the Superintendent’ episode - click HERE - details how our winter concerts have come together in a very challenging year.
SCS RESPONSIBLE RESTART COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE
Our District has created the SCS Responsible Restart Comprehensive Guide - one document in one location outlining our District’s policies and procedures. This document should be used as a guide, allowing you to quickly find answers to your questions. The guide can also be found at www.strongnet.org/restart.
As we have seen throughout the pandemic, factors can change on a daily basis and this Guide will remain adjustable and flexible to respond to state and local health guidelines.

MUSTANG SPOTLIGHT - MRS. RACHEL DLOUHY, KINDERGARTEN TEACHER AT WHITNEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Mrs. Rachel Dlouhy is in her 3rd year teaching kindergarten in our District. Mrs. Dlouhy has taught at Surrarrer and Kinsner, and is currently at Whitney Elementary School. Her undergraduate degree is from John Carroll University and she has also earned her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Cleveland State University, along with a Reading Endorsement from Notre Dame College.
“Kindergarten is truly magical. It's where young children enter our classrooms at the beginning of the year and leave as proud little leaders. Working with 5 and 6 year olds makes you laugh, smile, and cheer, all while being the ultimate test of your patience. One of my favorite reasons for being a Kindergarten teacher is seeing the love and excitement the students have for learning. From our silly songs and chants, to trying to catch those sneaky Leprechauns in March, there's never a dull moment. The everyday joy we share in Kindergarten is the reason I teach. The amazing relationships that are formed which make you love each student and love your job - this is what makes it all worth it,” said Mrs. Dloughy.
“I am so thankful to work for Strongsville City Schools. Every administrator and staff member I've had the privilege to work with have been nothing short of amazing. The students and families I am lucky enough to work with remind me every day of why I became a teacher. Our entire community has been extremely supportive and I am extremely proud to be a Strongsville Mustang.”
Thank you Mrs. Dloughy for inspiring our kindergarten students and making learning fun in your classroom! #WeAreStrongsville

OPT IN FOR TEXT MESSAGES FROM SCS
With the abundance of emails that we all receive on a daily basis, and some being directed to spam or becoming buried in other folders in your email account, it sometimes leaves you without knowing an email was sent. One way to address this issue is to send a text that alerts an email has been sent. Although our texting option is not new for the district, families must opt in to receive our texts. More parent opt ins are needed to make it an effective communication strategy. Please click HERE and follow the directions to opt in to our text messaging service.
