Dream to Reality follows Callie’s trailblazing path as the first woman on the Moon. Callie and her robot sidekick, RT, overcome setbacks, disappointment, and tragedy along the way. From her childhood dreams of space travel to being selected as an astronaut candidate, Callie takes us on her journey to the Moon.
STEM at Home
Gummy Candy Recipe Star Wars Edition
- Make them in lots of colors
- Fill one or two of the molds with each color. You will have each style in a variety of flavors.
- Place them in the fridge to set up quickly.
- The gummies may be a bit sticky when you remove them from the mold, simply let them sit at room temperature or in the fridge for another hour or two. The stickiness should go away.
- Make sure to store them in an airtight container until you are ready to eat them.

TEA K - 12 STEM Teacher and Leadership Professional Development Dates
This professional development prepares teachers for successful implementation of STEM instruction in their classrooms by immersing teachers directly in the role of STEM learner, engaging first-hand in high-impact STEM practices such as project-based learning, design-based challenges, and computational thinking. To better understand the role STEM plays in education, educators will make connections between between the Texas STEM Framework, STEM fluency skills, and contemporary workforce standards. Most importantly, educators will begin the work of embedding these STEM strategies into what matters most - their daily work with students.
Region 12 - June 14-16 Registration
Leadership Training
This immersive professional development prepares campus administrators STEM leaders to shape, support, and sustain STEM initiatives within their district or campus. Participants will learn by doing, engaging directly in the instructional approaches most critical to the STEM endeavor: project-based learning, design-based challenges, and computational thinking. Working backwards from a model vision for STEM education, the session culminates with leaders collaboratively planning for real-life implementation of STEM programming.

Free Secondary Camps at Smith MS
- Week 1: June 5 - 8
- Week 2: June 12 - 15
Robotics Camp - This camp is designed to teach students concepts in science, technology, mechanics, engineering, and computer programming by building a robot with LEGO bricks, gears, axles, motors, and sensors. Students will program a robot to complete certain tasks with their newly computer programming skills and use of sensors.

Sessions held: 7:30 am - 1:30 pm
Registration begins Saturday, May 27, 2023.
CTC College for Kids
College for Kids (also known as CFK) provides a summer of education for students of all ages starting as young as five. Through College for Kids, students can discover new talents, meet new friends, and expand knowledge in a fun hands-on learning environment under the guidance of highly passionate and experienced instructors.
