Nurse Notes
In the month of October we will be completing mass vision screenings on 2nd, 4th and 6th graders. Parents will get a print out with results and if an optometry referral is necessary. If you have a student who may be having difficulty seeing and you would like to have them screened please reach out to one of the nurses.
Cold and flu season is upon us once again! We are seeing several different illnesses including a stomach bug, Covid, Flu, and other cold viruses. Please help us prevent spread in the school. If you have a student who is not feeling well, please keep them home. Also, please remember to get the flu vaccine for you and your family. It takes all of us to keep everyone healthy and in school!
Please reach out to Nurse Brothers for Middle School needs lbrothers@pinespringsprep.org and Nurse Driscoll jdriscoll@pinespringsprep.org for Elementary School Needs. Stay Healthy!
Spirit Wear vs. Dress Down Attire
Spirit Wear Days: Are celebrated the FIRST Friday of every school month. On this Friday students are encouraged to wear PSPA t-shirts, sweatshirts, or hoodies that they have purchased through our PSPA PTO. On the bottom students can wear school appropriate (the definition of what PSPA considers appropriate is not too tight and not too short) shorts, skirts or pants of their choice (however, pj bottoms are not acceptable). They do not need to be school uniform shorts. They could be jeans or athletic shorts, for example.
Dress Down Days: Are new to PSPA this year and are recognized on the THIRD Friday of every school month. Students are allowed to dress down into school appropriate clothing of their choice. This does NOT include articles of clothing such as pjs, short skirts, tight pants, spaghetti straps, open-toed shoes, or bare midriff shirts.
School Uniforms: Can be purchased through our exclusive vendor Land's End. Just a reminder bottoms can be purchased anywhere. Articles of clothing that have a logo must be purchased through Land's End. In addition, certain items like jumpers for young girls have only been approved for the younger grades like K-2nd. We are unable at this time to add additional items to our Land's End approved list.
Land’s End School Code for PSPA: 900185760
Red Ribbon Week at PSPA
PSPA will celebrate Red Ribbon Week October 24-31, 2022. This year's theme is "Celebrate Life. Live Drug Free."
The purpose of Red Ribbon Week is to create awareness concerning the problems related to the use of tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs. RRW also reinforces the decision to live a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. Students can add a splash of red to their dress down day 10/28!
Elementary students can also wear the following the week of 10/24-10/31:
MONDAY- Our futures are bright- "Sunglass Day"
TUESDAY-Turn your back on bullying- "Backward Day"
WEDNESDAY- Wear Orange for Unity Day (BOTH elementary and middle can wear orange)
THURSDAY- Sock it to bullying- "Crazy Sock Day"
FRIDAY- Put bullying to rest- "School Appropriate PJ day"
From Many Countries...We Are One School!
PSA: Label your children's outwear NOW!
If your child is missing any items please tell them to check lost and found! Both schools already have a lot of unclaimed items.
