March
Volunteer of the Month
Dan Repasky has been involved with many volunteer activities over the last
seven years at Graham Elementary School. Because of his extensive involvement in Graham’s PTA, he is being honored as the March BMO Harris Bank District 204 Volunteer of the Month.
Dan has two daughters and four grandchildren. Two of his grandchildren attend Graham Elementary School where he has volunteered since 2016. His volunteer activities at Graham consist of helping with Makerspace, Hour of Code and Tinkercad/3D printing.
He is retired from the Aluminum Company of America where he worked as a cybersecurity analyst.
Mr. Repasky received two nominations for Volunteer of the Month. They both spoke highly of Mr. Repasky stating, “The Graham students, staff and LMC are lucky to have such a caring and dedicated volunteer” and “The impact Dan has made in the Graham Elementary LMC, and Makerspace is exceptional. His warmth, his caring nature, and his dedication to students can be felt by everyone at the school. He is an integral part of the Graham community.”
Volunteering gives Dan a sense of accomplishment, a sense of community and belonging since he retired. He enjoys seeing the smiles on the students faces when they complete a 3D printing project, or when they are having fun in Makerspace. Dan says, “You do not have to be a parent to volunteer, you can be a grandparent that volunteers to help and have fun with the students. You do not need any experience, just a willingness to help as needed and have fun.” This is also a memory that he is making for his grandchildren for years to come.
