Students in grades PreK, Kindergarten, and 1st-2nd will have access to free dental services, which will help promote attendance and ensure that our students are healthy and ready to learn. The state-of-the-art van will be conveniently parked in front of John Paulding and Winfield L. Morse Elementary Schools. Below is some information on what to expect.
What will your children receive?
Some of the free, fantastic services that will be provided include:
- Dental examinations and screenings
- Preventive services, including dental cleanings, fluoride treatments and dental sealants
- Dental fillings, both temporary and permanent, and more!
How can I sign up my child for services?
How will your children access services?
Classroom teachers will be notified of their students’ appointment date and time. A dental practitioner will pick up and return the students to class once their session is complete. It's important to note that all students are enrolled by their parents through a consent form, and parents are contacted before the appointment.
We're committed to ensuring the well-being of our students, and the Open Door Dental Van is a fantastic initiative to support their oral health!
For any questions/concerns, please feel free to contact Dr. Audrey Brutus, Supervisor of Social Emotional Learning and Community Engagement, at abrutus@tufsd.org or 914-366-5887.
