Silver Gate Elementary

These next weeks leading up to Thanksgiving Break are going to fly! We have a lot of learning to do, and many activities gong on. A few reminders; there is no school Friday 11/10 in observance of Veterans Day, Monday 11/13 through Friday 11/17 are minimum days for Parent/Teacher Conferences.

Please make sure to pick up your student by 12:35.

Our Harvest Festival was one of the best ever on record and we want to express our gratitude to all the people and sponsors involved in making this community event come to life. Also, if you signed up to run a booth shift, donated baked goods or loaned a table, thank you! It's our collective efforts that make this event such a success.

ST MATH

We had a great time last week at Monday Assembly. JiJi came to visit Silver Gate as we are one of the top school that uses the program. Big thank you to our FSG President Kirstin Senescall for being such a great sport and wearing the costume for 2 hours. Ask your student about it. Here are some class pictures.

Our first Point Loma Cluster Schools Foundation (PLCSF) meeting will be on Monday 11/6 at 4:30pm in the Correia Middle School Library (4302 Valeta St.). Susan Wais from “Partners in Thriving” will be presenting information about social/emotional wellbeing for parents and their children. It should be very interesting!

Please Join Me in Taking Part in the Silver Gate Gratitude Challenge

Gratitude is when we express appreciation and thanks for the good things in our lives. We can be thankful for the things we receive, the people who surround us, and the fun things we get to experience and do. Gratitude allows us to celebrate the present, it dispels negative emotions, builds more resilience, and cultivates a higher sense of self-worth.

Over the next 5 weeks I challenge Silver Gate Elementary students, staff, and families to participate in The Gratitude Challenge.

Do you promise to fulfill the terms?

When your child must be absent for any reason, please call the office at 858-988-2200 by 9:00 a.m. every day of non-attendance, giving the exact reason for the absence. You can also email Renee Erickson at rerickson@sandi.net

Any child arriving after 7:50 a.m. must stop in the office and pick up a tardy slip. This is disruptive to your child and the entire class. Let's set good habits early in the school year to arrive on time.
