Let's Celebrate Valerius Teachers & Staff During Teacher Appreciation Week: May 2 – May 6! Volunteers still needed.

Help us show our staff just how much they are appreciated. Linked here (and below) is a flyer showing the week's activities. We have also put together a list of all staff to help! You can participate by helping your child write a thank you note, volunteering your time to cover a recess for teachers, bringing some items to make the staff smile, helping us provide lunch, and more.

PTO Meeting Thursday (5/5) & Family Meet-Up on Friday (5/6)!

Thursday, May 5th: PTO Meeting

I'd like to invite you to our PTO meeting next Thursday, May 5 at 7:30pm in the Valerius library. We have a BIG need to add new families to our PTO next year. We are working with a small crew, and have several families aging out in the next few years.


Throughout the year, PTO provides events like the Fun Run, family meet-ups and events, teacher appreciation, classroom materials, educational supports, funding for field trips, classroom parties, and more. In order to continue to be able to offer these experiences for our students, we need family volunteers to coordinate these efforts. As an organization, we work hard to not ask too much from anyone--we'll happily accept help in whatever level you are able to provide it, but we definitely need to have some new folks join us next year. We meet once a month for an hour, and meetings are set at the beginning of the year. Please consider joining us! ALL Valerius families are welcome!


Friday, May 6th: Family Meet-Up at Lions Park

Join the PTO for some time to get to know other Valerius families at the Lions Park Playground. Popsicles will be provided at the following times: 5:30-6:00 (K-2), 6:00-6:30 (3-5).

Valerius PTO Family Picnic on May 27th!

PTO is hosting an End of the Year Picnic on Friday, May 27th during student lunches!

Families, in order to receive an adult or non-enrolled child school meal you MUST RSVP (link also below). Please only fill out this form if you (adult and/or non-enrolled children) will be attending the Valerius Family BBQ Picnic on Friday, May 27th. RSVPs* must be received by Friday, May 6th to ensure meals are available for all attendees. Each household is "limited to" 2 lunches per Valerius student.


PICNIC MENU
  • Student lunch: Hot Dog on a Bun or Sunbutter Sandwich.
Each meal includes baby carrots with ranch, coleslaw, chips, slushie, and milk.
  • Adult and non-enrolled child lunch:Hot Dog on a Bun or Veggie (Garden) Burger.

*Any responses not received, or received after the deadline, will not be granted. Adults and non-enrolled children will only get a meal if they RSVP and have a meal ticket at the time of lunch service.

2022-23 Student Registrations Opened April 1st - REGISTER TODAY!

Families with students in kindergarten through 11th grade currently enrolled in the district will receive an email on April 1, 2022, with instructions for online registration. For families without email, a letter will be mailed to you with instructions for registering your returning student(s).

Free Meals for All Students Ends With the 2021-2022 School Year

When the 2021-2022 school year ends, so do free meals for every student.


While the federal government funded a program that allowed all students access to free meals during the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress recently declined to continue funding this program. This means all families will need to carry a positive balance in their children’s school meal accounts when school begins next fall.


If your student qualifies for free or reduced meals, they can still receive them next year, click HERE for more information about how to make that happen.

Visitors

Just a few reminders as we welcome visitors back into the building.

  • As the COVID-19 vaccine is currently approved for individuals 5 years of age and older, visitors are permitted for Kindergarten through 12th grades. This means that students, staff, families, and visitors in compliance with school visitor policies and Principal approval are allowed inside our elementary (K-5), middle, and high school buildings.
  • Visitors are not permitted during lunch for Kindergarten through 8th grades.
  • Building Principals may limit the number of adult visitors in a classroom, or in an area of the building, at any given time.

All visitors must check into the main office to sign in and to be escorted to the classroom. Please call the main office if you have any questions.
