Note from Principal Solomon
Good Afternoon -
We certainly have had ups and downs with the weather and with the schedule. Thank you for your flexibility and support as we put safety first for our community of students and staff.
Along the lines of safety, we have had an uptick of GI related illness here at Wild Rose. We are and have been taking extra precautions of cleanliness and hand washing. Our entire building will have a deep clean this weekend to help stop the spread of germs and illness. We continue to ask for support from home if your child is not feeling well, they be symptom free for at least 24 hours before sending them to school. We know this can be challenging, however it really is to protect everyone in the school community and stop the spread more illness. Thank you for your support and cooperation.
Thank you to the number of parents signing your child into school if they are arriving after 8:00 am. Also an update on the safety and locked doors at school. We no longer will have doors unlocked at any point of the day. Elementary school doors will be locked 24/7. Therefore if you are a part of any activity that rents the school for items such as: Storm Basketball, Cub Scouts, a PTO evening event, even though school is not in session at those times doors will be locked. Just want all to know how important it is to keep our doors locked and this will be different practice then we have done before. Doors will not be unlocked for any event at any time.
Thank you,
Mrs. Solomon

Notification to Families in Grades 3, 4 & 5 for Academically Talented Identification for 2024-2025
As we embark on the season of planning for the 2024-2025 school year, an identification process is underway for accelerated placement for next year’s 4th, 5th and 6th graders. Here is some helpful information:
All 3rd grade students are automatically considered for potential placement in Academically Talented (AT) Math and AT ELA programming. You do not need to request it. However, you can reach out to ask questions about the process anytime using the contact information below.
5th grade students are also automatically considered for potential placement in an additional Accelerated Math Pathway that starts in middle school. This pathway provides for the completion of Algebra before entering high school by allowing students to complete more than one grade level of math in 6th grade and 7th grade.
5th grade students who are currently in our AT programming may be identified for potential placement in the Infinity Gifted Program at the middle school level. These students may take part in additional testing in February. Parents will be informed in advance if additional testing is requested.
Families of students who are identified for placement in our AT Math, AT ELA, Infinity Gifted or Accelerated Math programming will be informed by March 1.
I am happy to talk through questions and explain programming further. Please reach out anytime!

Birthday Lunch with a Loved One
I am excited to share that we will be allowing a member of a student's family to come and have a celebratory lunch with their child for their birthday. I understand that many birthdays have past and some are over the summer, therefore you are more than welcome to choose a day prior to the end of the year. We ask if you are planning to come and have lunch that you please let the office know ahead of time so that we know how many adults will be at lunch time and be sure we can accommodate. I don't foresee this to be a problem, however we just want to be prepared. Hope this allows everyone a little more joy in the new year.
Valentine's Day
Just a friendly reminder that there is not designated Valentine's Day parties this year. Our classroom teachers will allow time to pass out valentines for their students and have some fun with their class. If your child is sending valentines there must be one for everyone in the class. Candy valentines are allowed, however all candy will be sent home for families to determine what they would like their child to eat. Classroom teachers will send a list of student names home for your child to address their valentines.
Late Arrival to School
Wild Rose Families - We have a large number of students (25 Plus) arriving after the 8:00 am bell and there is no longer supervision. Drop off is as early as 7:45 and the bell rings at 8:00 am for school to begin. I highly recommend planning to be here by 7:55 to be on time. Even with the cold temperature it is the expectation that parents get out of their vehicles to sign-in their child in, if they are arriving at or after the 8:00 am bell. The front office will begin emailing parents that are sending their child or children to the front door without a parent to sign-them in. Please partner with us and help get your child to school on time. If there is anything we can do to help please let us know.
