Groves Counseling October Update
A newsletter of the Groves Counseling Department
Digital PSAT/NMSQT Oct. 18
ALL JUNIORS will take the Digital PSAT on Wednesday, October 18. This year is the first year that the test will be given nationwide digitally. Students must use a district-issued laptop for testing. Personal devices will not have the application on them for test administration.
On Thursday, October 5 at 1:00 p.m., juniors participated in a digital readiness pre-test administration to be prepared to take the PSAT. All students must have their district-issued laptop and should have registered on the application. Full-length practice tests are available, and we encourage students to work through these at home so they have exposure to the new test format.
*If your student does not yet have their district-issued laptop, they should see Mr. Mackinnon in the Media Center as soon as possible.
Test Details
Students (all juniors) will report to their test location on October 18 at 7:15 a.m. Students testing with standard time will report to the Gym.
The test is approximately 3 hours long, so all juniors will eat B lunch after testing and then attend 4th and 5th hour classes.
Lunch from our Food Services Department will be provided to those students who will test with extended time.
All students must bring their fully-charged district laptop with them on the test date. They can also bring a water bottle and a snack for the break. They can not bring any other electronic devices (cell phones, smart watches, etc.) into the testing locations.
