The Eagle's Nest
Catholic East Soars with Woodlin - 9/15
Welcome back to the Eagle's Nest
Dear Families,
We are absolutely thrilled to share some incredible news with you! Over the past week, we have witnessed an amazing focus and achievement from our scholars as they embarked on their MAP testing journey. Many of our students not only met their goals but have soared beyond them, reaching into the 80th percentile and beyond! This level of success is truly exciting and a testament to the dedication and hard work of our students, teachers, and families.
This remarkable achievement sets a high bar for us this year, and we couldn't be more excited about the journey ahead. We are grateful for the opportunity to work alongside you all in nurturing the academic growth and success of our students. Together, we will continue to empower our scholars and guide them toward even greater accomplishments. Thank you for your unwavering support and partnership in this exciting endeavor!
Attendance
Today's Attendance Numbers:
Tardies: 16 (This number keeps going up. This will not become the norm!)
Attendance Percentage: 95.68% (10 scholars missed picture day 😔)
We wanted to take a moment to emphasize the vital importance of consistent school attendance and punctuality, both of which play a significant role in the success of your scholar's education. Being at school every day and arriving on time, by 8:00 AM, is not just a routine; it's a commitment to your child's growth and learning journey. It enables us to provide your scholar with the high-quality instruction they deserve, ensuring that we cover all the essential standards for their grade level.
Your partnership in this mission is invaluable. By making sure your scholar is present and punctual, you are actively contributing to the creation of an enriching and effective learning environment. Together, we can provide your child with the best possible education, setting them on a path to success.
Thank you for your dedication to your scholar's education, and we look forward to your continued support in ensuring they are in school every day, on time, and on a mission for excellence.
Dismissal at Holy Rosary K3 - 2nd Grade
Dear Holy Rosary Campus Parents,
We hope this message finds you well. We want to take a moment to address our dismissal procedures to ensure a safe and seamless transition for both our scholars and our staff. To maintain this smooth process, we kindly request your cooperation with the following guidelines:
Dismissal via Phone Calls and After 3:00 PM:
In order to provide a secure and efficient dismissal process, we will not be accommodating scholar dismissals via phone calls or after 3:00 PM. We understand that there may be emergency situations, and we will, of course, make necessary accommodations in such cases. However, for routine dismissals, we kindly request your understanding and adherence to this schedule.
Entering the Building After 3:00 PM:
We kindly request that parents refrain from entering the building after 3:00 PM to pick up scholars. Doing so can create undue stress for both our scholars and teachers and disrupt the orderly dismissal process. Your cooperation in this regard is greatly appreciated.
Waiting for Scholars Inside the Playground Gates:
To ensure the safety and ease of our youngest scholars, we kindly ask that you wait until scholars have entered the playground gates before picking them up. This practice helps prevent confusion among our youngest students, who are still learning to stay in line and follow the person in front of them.
By adhering to these dismissal procedures, we can collectively contribute to a safe and seamless dismissal experience for everyone involved. If you have any questions or require further clarification, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. Your cooperation and understanding are invaluable as we prioritize the well-being and orderliness of our school community.
Thank you for your support and commitment to the success and safety of our scholars at Holy Rosary Campus.

Family Directory Opt - Out Form
Building Stronger Bonds in Our Catholic East Community
Dear Catholic East Families,
Over the years, Catholic East has evolved into not just a school, but a close-knit community where families have become more than just neighbors – they have become close friends. We've witnessed the beautiful coordination of carpools to activities, students participating together on the same sports teams outside of school, and lasting relationships that have been nurtured over time.
One of the foundational tools that has allowed us to create and strengthen these connections is our Parent Directory. This invaluable resource, offered to families as part of the Home and School Committee, includes contact information that enables families to communicate and form deeper bonds.
We are excited to announce that by the end of September, we will be making this directory available once again. It's a wonderful opportunity to connect with your fellow Catholic East families and be a part of our family-oriented community.
However, we understand that privacy is important to some, and we respect your choice in this matter. If you wish to have your contact information withheld from the directory, please complete the opt-out form.
Please know that families who do not complete the opt-out form will automatically become a part of our thriving and closely connected Catholic East community.
Thank you for being a vital part of our school family, and we look forward to fostering even stronger bonds in the year ahead!
Priority One: Strong Faith
We have an exciting update to share with you! Our cherished tradition of "Fridays with Father" is evolving into something even more special – "A Word from Father." In these videos, our dedicated Priest team will provide spiritual guidance and insights to nourish your faith journey.
We encourage you to make these videos a part of your family routine. Gather around, watch, and engage in small discussions afterward to help build and strengthen your "Strong Faith" as a family. It's a wonderful opportunity to deepen your spiritual connection and share in meaningful conversations with your loved ones.
Look out for the upcoming "A Word from Father" video in our newsletter, and let's embark on this faith-filled journey together.
Scripture of the Week
“I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
(Acts 20:35)
Reflection Questions:
What is this Scripture telling us?
How can this scripture help us to be helpful?
How can it be a blessing to give more than we receive?
How does this connect to your values?
Priority Two: Strong Expectations
Behavior Points & Class DOJO
We are reaching out with a heartfelt plea and a shared commitment to the success of your scholars. Each day, we diligently provide feedback on your scholar's behavior through our communication platforms, such as DOJO or the Green Communication Folders. It is crucial, now more than ever, that you take a moment to review these notes and actively engage with your scholar regarding their conduct.
Our behavior management system is not just a set of rules; it is rooted in the scriptures. Proverbs 29:17 tells us, "Discipline your child, and he/she will give you rest; he/she will give you delight to your heart." We are all working together to guide our scholars towards the right path. Proverbs 22:6 reminds us, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it."
We implore you to join us in this important endeavor. Celebrate your scholar's successes and correct any missteps, for it is through these experiences that they learn and grow. We understand that challenges may arise, and we are here to support you every step of the way. Please don't hesitate to reach out and let us know how we can assist you in nurturing your scholar's development.
Our shared commitment to your scholar's growth and success is at the heart of our school community. Together, we can make a positive impact on their educational journey.
On TIme and On a Mission!
The Importance of Timely Arrival: A Vital Part of Your Scholar's Success
As partners in your child's education, we want to stress the crucial importance of sending your scholars to school on time. Timely arrival sets the stage for a successful and productive day of learning.
Our School Schedule:
Our school schedule is designed to optimize your child's learning experience:
- Drop-Off: 7:30 (If you need early drop-off, you must register with the YMCA)
- Breakfast: 7:30-8:00 am
- Start of School Day: 8:00 am
- End of the Day Announcements: 3:10 pm
- Dismissal: 3:15-3:30 pm

*Please note scholars in grades K3-2nd at our Holy Rosay Campus arriving after 7:55 should be dropped off at the school building across from the church.*
For safety reason, we ask that families walk scholars at our Holy Rosary Campus (grades K3-2nd) to the door.
Early Drop-off and Late Pick-up Registration
We want to ensure that all our scholars have access to safe and reliable early drop-off and late pick-up services when needed. To streamline this process, we have partnered with the YMCA to provide these services for scholars in grades K4-8.
Here's how it works:
Grades K4-8: Scholars in these grades who require early drop-off and late pick-up must register through the YMCA using the button below. This partnership with the YMCA ensures a structured and secure environment for your child outside of regular school hours.
Grade K3: If you have a scholar in K3 who requires these services, please reach out to the school office directly. Our team will be happy to assist you in making the necessary arrangements.

Priority Two: Strong Expectations - School Uniforms
We believe in the power of unity and pride in our school community, and one of the ways we foster this is through our school uniform. Uniforms serve as a visual symbol of our collective identity and commitment to creating a focused and respectful learning environment.
Uniform Expectations:
We kindly request that all parents and guardians ensure their scholars are in full uniform daily. This includes adhering to the specific uniform items outlined in our uniform policy. It's important to note that for our young ladies, we have designated jumpers and skirts that are part of our prescribed uniform, and plain navy or khaki alternatives are not considered uniform pieces.
The Value of Uniform Compliance:
Uniform compliance is about more than just clothing; it's about instilling values such as respect, responsibility, and pride in our scholars. When everyone is dressed in uniform, it creates a sense of belonging and equality among our students.
Consequences for Non-Compliance:
We take uniform compliance seriously, as it contributes to the overall culture of our school. Failure to be in full uniform may result in the following:
- A phone call home to inform parents/guardians.
- Point deduction for scholars in grades 3-8 as part of our behavior management system.
- The possibility of having to change into clothing provided by the school.
We're Here to Support:
We understand that there may be circumstances where adhering to the uniform policy becomes challenging. If you find yourself facing difficulties related to uniforms, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to support you and work together to find a solution.
Uniform Policy Details:
For a comprehensive understanding of our uniform policy, including specific uniform items and guidelines, please visit the following link: Uniform Policy.
* Please note: Fridays are no longer House Color days. Students must be in full school uniforms on Fridays*
Thank you for partnering with us in upholding the values and expectations of our school community. Together, we create an environment where every scholar feels a sense of pride, belonging, and respect
