Tarbiyah Academy Parent Newsletter
Updates, Information, and Reminders for our TA Families
December 5, 2022
Bismillah!
Assalamu Alaikum Dear TA Parents and Families!
I hope that this finds all of our families well and in the best of conditions!
We have several announcements and reminders for our families. Please take a look through this newsletter and as always, please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
May Allah continue to allow us to achieve our goals and beyond here at TA. May He guide and bless our efforts in all we do and grant us success in the upbringing of our children.
Thank you and jazakum Allahu khairun.

Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences-This Week!
We will have an early release on these days at 1:00.
If you have not done so already, sign up for your child's conference using the link below.
Finally, please keep in mind that the parent-teacher-student conference is an opportunity to provide our students with agency and ownership over the learning process. During this conference, your child will share his/her goals, reflections, and learning products with you, supported by his/her teachers. Your child-the learner-is an active participant in this conference. We ask that our parents support this format by allowing the child to participate, engage, and authentically share the progress, successes, and areas of growth of his/her learning.
We encourage our parents to actively engage in the conference by being active listeners and by asking their children meaningful questions about their learning. Some questions you could ask during the conference are:
- What was challenging about this? (when looking at a piece of work)
- What learner profile attributes did you use when you worked on this?
- How do you think you grew as a learner this term?
- What are some things you're working to get better at?
- What are some new skills you gained this year?
- What are some skills you improved on?
- What are some skills you want to build?
- How do you think you've changed as a learner?
- What do you think gets in your way of learning?
- What are some big ideas you learned when doing that?
- What did you understand about the world from this unit?
- What do you love most about your classroom?
- What did you find most interesting this term?
- What do you wish you could have kept learning more about in class?
- What kind of reader are you?
- What kind of a learner are you? How do you learn best?
- What are some things that helped you this year become a stronger learner?
- What makes you want to keep learning?
- What was the hardest part about that?
- What do you think you struggle with the most in the classroom?
These are just suggestions-feel free to engage your child in any way you feel is relevant and meaningful.
We ask all families to arrive to conferences on time and to be responsive to announcements prompting you to wrap up conferences.
Finally, our families can expect to receive their child's Term 1 report card tomorrow, Tuesday, December 6. Your child's report card is provided to you, digitally, via Managebac. Please look out for an email notification tomorrow from Managebac, prompting you to login and view your child's Term 1 report card.
We pray our families find the conferences and report cards beneficial in understanding their child's progress, growth, and learning needs.
