News and Events You Can Use
IB Showcase
On Monday, our Panthers held our IB Showcase. Students presented an MYP project they completed during the school year. The students' hard work was evident, and they took great pride in showing what they had created and learned. It was also an excellent time for parents to see their student(s) inside the classroom.
PBIS Party
We finished celebrating a great academic morning on Monday by allowing students to spend their remaining positive behavior (PBIS) points at our outdoor party. Yard games, snacks, treats and free Kona ice were available for all students who achieved their iReady yearly goals. It was a great afternoon!

No Backpacks Final Week
During the final week of each year, students are not to bring backpacks to school. Lockers are cleaned out, laptops are turned in, and the fun of the Olympics is ahead of us. No backpacks are allowed! Students should bring a water bottle, hat, sunglasses, and be in their Olympics shirts each day this week and appropriate-length athletic shorts and comfortable shoes for outdoor and indoor games.
MYP Progress Reports
On Tuesday of this week, our teachers sent home International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) progress reports. These are not grade reports. Rather, they are our twice yearly reports on how your students are progressing toward IB skills and outcomes. Please ask your student to see their report!
Summer School Letters Friday
Today teachers will be sending home letters and e-mailing families whose students should be registering for summer school.
Pop-in Honor Roll Celebrations
We are excited to have 2nd semester honor roll students pop in to the cafeteria next Wednesday afternoon for a brief and somewhat informal celebration of honor roll. Honor Roll will recognize all students achieving ALL A’s in ALL content areas as well as all students achieving ALL A’s and B’s in ALL content areas.
Parents, we share this information with you for awareness, but this ceremony - while special - isn’t one we encourage parents taking time off of work or busy schedules to attend. Look forward to seeing your child’s certificate when they come home!
8th Grade Celebrations
We're eager to celebrate our 8th graders and their victorious middle school journey. Upcoming celebrations include:
8th Grade Awards Ceremony: a student-centered ceremony with remarks, 8th grade outstanding student awards by team, and historical school awards. Monday, May 22 at 10:45 - 11:30 in the gym before the picnic.
8th Grade Picnic: lunch, games, music, and social time supported by PTA on Monday, May 22 from 11:30-2:00 p.m. at Ridgeview Park. Sign up to volunteer for the picnic.

Spirit Wear for 2023-24
Mark you calendar! We will begin accepting spirit wear preorders for the 2023-24 school year beginning June 1st. Placing a preorder ensures you receive the style, color and size of your choice! As in prior years, we will offer two drive-through dates for picking up your order. Use your time at Panther Peek to check out the school and meet the teachers instead of waiting in line for spirit wear. We have great shirt designs and exciting new non-apparel items coming! Please visit us at www.ptarcms.org starting June 1.
