Shelter In Place Drill
On Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. all schools and offices are required to execute a Shelter-In-Place Drill. The purpose of this drill is to move to a safe location within the building in the case of unexpected severe weather such as a sudden thunderstorm or a possible chemical spill in the nearby community.
The safety of students and staff is our top priority. To maintain a safe environment, it is necessary that we practice emergency and crisis response plans by conducting drills designed to reinforce emergency procedures.
2nd Semester Class Change
Can you believe we are half way through the school year? We are now in Quarter 3, the start of the 2nd semester! As a reminder, PE and Health are semester courses. If your scholar had PE for first semester, they will have Health for second semester (wear school uniform daily, not their PE uniform). If your scholar had Health for first semester, they are expected to wear their proper PE uniforms only on days they have PE. Please assist us in ensuring that your scholar is in their correct uniform by having them to check their schedule in SchoolMax Thank You.
Grading Policy Reminder
According to Administrative Procedure 5121, classes that meet 3-5 times per week require a minimum of 2 grades per week entered into SchoolMax and classes that meet 1-2 times per week require a minimum of 1 grade per week entered into SchoolMax. Additionally, please be mindful that AP5121 also states "Teachers must return graded papers and assignments within ten days of submission in order to provide on-going, timely feedback to students and parents."
SchoolMax Family Portal
Parents are encouraged to login regularly to monitor their scholar’s progress. Additionally, be sure to update your contact information in the Family Portal. This is the information that the school will use to send emails, texts, and robo-calls to keep you informed. If you encounter any issues accessing or updating your Family Portal please visit:

Math Corner
In math classes, scholars are expected to provide arguments or justifications, critiquing the reasoning of others, and using precision when explaining their thinking related to mathematics. Encourage your scholar to use IXL to strengthen their skills, show their work or provide an explanation of justification for their answers, and study their notes when they get home.

Free and Reduced Meal Applications
All parents are encouraged to apply for Free or Reduced Meal Services (FARMS). This information impacts school funding which equals $$dollars$$ in our classrooms.
Even if parents don't think they qualify, they are encouraged to apply at MySchoolApps.com. Online applications are processed within 24-48 hours.
Students who are not eligible for free or reduced-priced meals must pay for their meals. See Meal Prices. Parents and guardians can easily monitor and add funds to student meal accounts using MySchoolBucks.
