Welcome back to school and the 2023-24 school year! The first three days were a success and we all saw so much joyful learning going on. We are going to have a great year, Longfellow!!

We enjoyed meeting our kindergarten students and caretakers last Monday, August 14, 2023!! Kindergarten parents! If you post photos of your kindergarten child with their Calumet HS Class of 2036 shirts on, be sure to tag Longfellow with #CHSclassof2036 We have a little special something for those kiddos!

BEFORE and AFTER SCHOOL CARE STARTS WED, AUGUST 30!! Longfellow students MUST be signed up with The Adventure Club (TAC) prior to attending.

The Adventure Club will be providing before and after school care for students signed up with TAC starting Wednesday, August 30. They accept vouchers and school district employees get a discount.

My name is Ms. Garcia. I am the dean at Longfellow New Tech Elementary School. I have a bachelor's in Elementary Education from Purdue, a master's in Education from IUPUI, and completed the Indiana Building Administrator's Licensure Program at Ball State. I have had the privilege of working at Longfellow as a teacher, academic interventionist, and dean. I am an advocate for trauma-informed and best practices that help our children grow both academically and emotionally. I believe school can make all the difference in the world to a child, allowing them to grow up and choose whatever path they like. My sincere wish for the new school year is that we see continuously increasing levels of student achievement and well-being because I care about our students and want them all to succeed.
