Please remember to provide a snack with your student for our snack break during each day. Your students are also welcome to our free breakfast starting at 8:00 AM daily. We have many students coming into the office asking for us to provide them with snacks and that is just not something we are able to do.

Thank you to the families who were able to attend the Visual and Performing Arts Information meeting on Thursday night. If you missed it, we provided a brief overview of our hopes and ideas for the start of an Arts program here at Sycamore Canyon. We still need family input. Just a reminder to be cautious and careful in the school parking lot. We have had a few reports of car damage and accidents in the parking lot recently. If you see something, please report it to the front office. Thank you!

Join us Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 6 p.m. for the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) Annual Review Meeting! SSD families, staff, and community partners will have the chance to review a variety of metrics to assess progress towards achieving stated goals. Join the Santee School District for a parent presentation on Cyberbullying: Sexting, Sextortion, and Online Predators. This free event will take place March 6 at 6 p.m. at Rio Seco. The San Diego Internet Crimes Against Children (SDICAC) Task Force will share what is currently happening in our city, what prevention measures to take, and the available resources if their child becomes a victim. The Santee Collaborative is shedding a light on what makes Santee so wonderful by sharing stories of kindness from our schools, community members, businesses, and organizations. • If your student will be absent please make sure you are calling our attendance line to let the front office know.
• If your student is showing COVID symptoms (sore throat, fever, headache, vomiting, diarrhea, chills, congestion or cough), be sure to take two tests (12-hours apart) prior to returning to class. If you are in need of COVID tests, the school has tests we can provide you.
• You may also want to email the teacher and let them know as well.
