Now Open: Enrollment for RMES's YMCA Before and After School Program (BASP)
Some info about BASP:
- AM care begins at 7am (we dismiss the kids when it's time to go to school)
- PM care runs until 6pm
- Preferential pricing is given to YMCA members (it is recommended to open a youth membership, as you will actually save money in the long run) but the program is open to all
- We focus on our 9 core components: academic enrichment, college and career exploration, 21st century skills, service learning, arts education, leadership development, health and wellness, global learning, and parent and family engagement.
- Within that framework, families can expect their child(ren) to receive help on homework, complete fun art projects, science experiences, play active games and sports, and make lasting and impactful relationships with their peers and counselors

2021 GMS Book Fair
Monday, May 17th-Thursday, May 20th. To keep students and staff safe from COVID, this spring's Gananda Middle School book fair will be equipped with hand sanitizer, floor discs for socially distanced foot traffic, and a few new browsing practices. As long as the weather cooperates the event will be outdoors, in front of the school's main entrance.
Because we need to take COVID precautions, students will be invited to visit the GMS Book Fair only during their ELA classes. Browsing and shopping time will not be available during study halls or lunch.
If you prefer to shop for a friend or family member from the comforts of your home, please visit the Scholastic Store Online and the Virtual Fair. The online store offers books for a wide age range from babies to adults. The Virtual Fair walks you through a lifelike experience of browsing shelves and selecting books for purchase on your computer. Online shopping for both options is available May 12-May 25th. A portion of all sales from the book fair go to our Gananda Middle School Library. That money will be used to purchase books for all of our students. Click this link to get to our GMS Book Fair homepage, and look for the photos below to shop online. Thank you for supporting our school book fair!
