As many of you know, Mr. Walton has accepted a principalship at Algonquin Road School for the 2021-2022 school year. This is a well-deserved and exciting opportunity for him, but I would be remiss if I did not say he will be deeply missed!

We will begin the interviewing process for a new assistant principal in the next few weeks with the hope of having someone hired by spring break.

Please take a moment to wish Mr. Walton well when you see him out and about!

In addition to letting your teachers know of an absence, please inform the office via the online link or voicemail. We are still managing attendance for all students, even our remote kiddos. Additionally, if your child is late or leaving early, we need you to fill out this form, also available via QR code on the front doors of the school.

We want to stay connected to our community! Please complete this form if you have a question, concern, suggestion, or compliment. Mrs. Buch and Mr. Walton will monitor the form weekly and follow up on anything shared.

Summer U 2021 June 16-July 14, 2021 at Thomas Middle School *Dates subject to change pending review of winter weather emergency days. Registration will begin on March 1, 2021, at 9:00 am and end on April 30, 2021. Please visit www.sd25.org/summeru for a full list of courses and times. As spring break approaches, we ask that you notify your child’s teacher if you will be quarantining after travel or extending your vacation beyond March 28th.

Students who are quarantining will be allowed to attend class remotely due to the recommendation from the IDPH.

Students who are extending vacations will be considered absent and not attending class. Although we want to support our families, it is difficult for teachers to plan for instruction when a student's attendance is inconsistent. In addition, we will not be providing supplies or additional activities to complete while you are gone. Feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher, and they can guide you in what should be completed via the posted class activities on Seesaw, or your child can make up any missed assignments upon your return.

Get ready to experience math in a whole new way! Join the Bedtime Math Leaders as they walk your family through hands-on, get-up-and-move activities for kids, like Rock ‘n’ Roll Hops and Glow-in-the-Dark Geometry. Join us Wednesday, April 7th from 6:30-7:30 PM for a family-friendly event designed for our Kindergarten through Second Grade students (siblings welcome!).

Supplies will be provided to your family- all you'll need to provide is scissors, tape, and pencils! Reach out to Amy Arce (aarce@sd25.org) with any questions.

It’s that time of year again and we want your input on the Illinois 5Essentials Parent Survey, as a part of the Illinois 5Essentials Survey administration.

In order for the survey report to be generated we need at least 20 percent of our parents to take the survey. Currently, 16 percent of families have responded, and I would love to meet our threshold. Please CLICK HERE to take the parent survey. The 5Essentials Survey is open through April 2.
