School Spelling Bee

Teachers will run individual class spelling bees and determine the top spellers to “bee” part of the School Spelling Bee. The 2nd through 5th grade spellers will compete together after school on Wednesday, January 24.

Volunteers for the Title 1 Paint & Sip Event

We are looking for a couple volunteers to help set up for a Paint & Sip Title 1 families event. Set-up time is 2:15 PM - 3:15 PM on the Washington campus on Tuesday, January 9. Please contact Michele Garcia at mgarcia@rbusd.org if you can volunteer.

Volunteers for Kids Heart Challenge

Our students will learn about heart health this month through the Kids Heart Challenge, sponsored by the American Heart Association. As they complete challenges, they will earn prizes. We are looking for volunteers to manage the prize distributions. Volunteer approximately 2 hours a week at school until the end of January. (You choose your own hours.)The challenge wraps up on January 25. Contact president@explorerspta.org to volunteer.

Play Area Supervision Sign-up

Per the latest effort to revise the restroom usage systems, Washington Elementary School is looking for extra helpers during recess and lunch periods. Parent volunteers will help supervise lunch tables and play areas so staff members can ensure restrooms are used safely and efficiently. You can sign up for one or more slots.

Kicked-off Winter Break with a Hot Cocoa Bar

The PTA hosted a warm and toasty hot cocoa bar right before the Washington Elementary staff took their winter holiday break. We love to treat our hardworking, dedicated staff!

Open Roles in PTA Programs

We are looking for parents to chair a program or volunteer in roles. Check out the Volunteering page for more info. Programs and roles include Invention Convention, STEAM Night, Talent Show, Legislative Chair, and Web Editor.
