Wiggin Street Parent Update
January 12, 2024
Better Together
Dear Wiggin Street Families,
Today has been a great day for teachers to share progress being made by students as we begin our mid-year assessments for progress monitoring. I've heard so many great conversations and celebrations, and we look forward to sharing them with you through report cards, progress reports, emails, and RTI meetings.
We are expecting some extremely cold temperatures next week. The following link will provide you with details shared by Superintendent Seder on how the decision is made for closings and delays. “School Closings and Delays - How is the Decision Made”. Specifically regarding temperature and wind chill, special consideration is given to temperature and/or sustained wind chills at or below -10 degrees F during peak pick-up times for buses and walking times for students.
Our Yearbook sale begins today, and you can order your Wiggin Street Elementary School 2023-24 School Yearbook simply by visiting book.hrimaging.com. The cost to reserve your yearbook is $16.00 and the order deadline is January 26th.
Our annual Math-a-thon begins this week and is titled "Math is Music to Our Ears" with a musical theme. Students can ask parents, friends, relatives and neighbors to sponsor them with a pledge per problem or a flat rate. We ask that pledge envelopes be returned on January 22nd. Ms. Waugh put together a presentation for the Friends of Wiggin Street to showcase items that have been purchased for our students with donations made through the years. We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful, supportive community!
Thank you for sharing your students with us each day!
Have a nice weekend!
Best wishes,
Christy Grandstaff
Outback Ray Coming January 19th!
This quarter's PBIS Reward Event will be an assembly with Outback Ray. The event is the afternoon of January 19th, and students need 50 PBIS points to attend. We hope all students can attend!

Temperature and wind chill. Temperature and/or sustained wind chills at or below -10F during peak pick-up times for buses and walking times for students are given special consideration.
Lastly, if school is on a 2-hour delay, we will start school at 11:00 am with drop-off beginning at 10:40. Lunch will always be pizza on delay days, and no breakfast will be served.
2023-24 School Fees
School fees are assessed and must be paid every school year. Elementary school fees are $30 per student. You can pay by credit card or bank draft on-line using the PayForIt.net website, or you can pay by sending a check, cash or money order at Wiggin Street School or the MVCSD Board Office.
