End of School Year Letter
Dear Parents / Guardians,
Here we are nearing the end of another amazing year! We are so very proud of our students and staff (and you, and their families) for all of the amazing achievements that happened throughout the year.
As you read this, final exams are being studied for; report card comments are being prepared and will be available Wednesday, June 28th by 3pm. Student timetables are being blueprinted and will be available on PowerSchool in late August or for pickup on registration day. Course changes are able to be made in August or September.
Please remember to check your child’s PowerSchool account for additional school fees due to missing textbooks. If you are able to return your child’s textbook before June 29th, there is a book drop at the front door of the school. Fees will be removed from your account once the textbooks have been returned. Please note that no adjustments will be made to your child’s account over the summer break.
The school office will be open August 21-25, 9AM - Noon and 1:00 - 3:00 for school year business and inquiries by phone.
We look forward to the Fall when we will see you again for our next school year. More information about registration will be sent out in late August from St. Mary’s but for now, our plan is as follows:
August Student Registration - Wednesday, August 30, 2023
Grades 10 - 12 from 8:30 am-noon
(closed from noon - 1:00 pm)
Grades 7 - 9 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Timetables will be available for pick up at registration on August 30 or viewable through PowerSchool.
Course changes will only be permitted for students who have exceptional circumstances such as a course sequencing that is incorrect, completion of a course in summer school, or insufficient prerequisites (course failure from the previous year).
Students and parents will be able to bring school supplies and locate their lockers during registration
For bussing or transportation questions, please contact Elk Island Public School at 1-800-905-3477 or at st@eips.ca
Note: There will be no staggered entry at St. Mary’s for the 2023-2024 school year. The first day of classes for all students is Thursday, August 31, 2023.
To those students leaving St. Mary’s, especially our graduates, we pray for God’s blessings upon your lives as you head into another chapter of your life. For those students returning to St. Mary’s we can’t wait to see you as we continue our journey as a faith-filled school community!
We pray that all of our students and staff have a blessed and restorative summer break!
Blessings,
Your St. Mary’s Administrative Team
Mr. Jim Salsbury, Principal
Mr. Darby Murphy, Assistant Principal
Mrs. Margaret Michaelchuk, Secretary
Mrs. Sian Vadnias, Secretary
EXAM WEEK Information for June:
EXAM WEEK INFORMATION
Students in Junior High (7-9) require written consent to be given to acknowledge that parents are aware that their child is leaving and not in school. These permission forms were sent home last week. If your student forgot the form you can print off a copy by clicking the LINK HERE. Some Junior High and High School students do stay in school because of rural bussing and for extra help. If they wish to remain on-site, they must remain in the study hall classroom. Students in grades 10-12 do not require permission to leave after their exam during exam week.
If you have any questions about Exam Week please do not hesitate to contact the school.
