Important Information
Flexible Instruction Days (FID)/Elementary School: Grades K-5
When the district is closed due to a weather emergency, the Brandywine Virtual Academy (BVA) will operate as normal.
If students are unable to attend due to power outages or other issues, parents can send an excuse note to cyber_attendance@dasd.org.
Flexible Instruction Days (FID)/Middle School: Grades 6-8
When the district is closed due to a weather emergency and a Flexible Instructional Day (FID) is announced, all DCA middle school classes will be completely asynchronous. Students should work on their material for the week in Schoology.
On a FID, middle school teachers will hold office hours via Zoom to answer students' questions and to provide help. Teachers will post their office hour schedules in Schoology.
Because a FID is considered a school day, students with scheduled DCA classes must log their attendance in Infinite Campus between 5 am and 11 pm on this day or they will be marked absent. If students are unable to login due to power outages or other issues, parents can send an excuse note to cyber_attendance@dasd.org.
Flexible Instruction Days (FID)/High School: Grades 9-12
When the district is closed due to a weather emergency and a Flexible Instructional Day (FID) is announced, high school students should work on their material for the week in Schoology.
High school teachers will hold office hours if they have a scheduled Zoom on that letter day. Teachers will post their office hour schedules in Schoology. As always, high school Zooms are optional.
Because a FID is considered a school day, students with scheduled DCA classes must log their attendance in Infinite Campus between 5 am and 11 pm on this day or they will be marked absent. If students are unable to attend due to power outages or other issues, parents can send an excuse note to cyber_attendance@dasd.org.
The DCA will follow the East/West FID bell schedule on a FID:
