Note from Mrs. Craft
Dear Hart Families,
Happy Thursday! We have had a great week of learning. This week our 3rd graders tackled the challenge of learning about engineering practices through exploration and problem solving. Our students loved working with the robots and creating complex courses for their robots to maneuver.
I would like to thank the Kindergarten and first grade parents who joined us for the Craft Connection Coffee. If you were unable to make it, I have included the presentation and a Question and Answer document from our meeting below. In the future, we will try and offer an in person and remote option.
As you know, Lovejoy ISD will be closed from September 1st - 4th. I hope that you enjoy this time with your family creating amazing memories. As always, please feel free to reach out at anytime with questions or concerns. We look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday, September 5th.
All My Best,
Wendy Craft

Grandparents spend lunch with your favorite Lovejoy leopards!
Fast Passes will be available for any Grandparents that have previously checked in at Hart this year.
Grandparents should plan on arriving 15 minutes prior to the students lunch to check-in.
Grandparents should bring their own lunches.
Art Sparks
Looking for a super easy way to get involved in your child's school? Become an Art Sparks volunteer!
The following teachers still need an Art Sparks volunteer:
FIRST: Papania
SECOND: Alford - Collins
THIRD: Burkhart - Salem - Scott
FOURTH: Minix
Here's why you'll love it:
- Quick & Convenient: Our program is designed to fit your schedule. Just 30 minutes of fun whenever you're available! You’ll coordinate times that work for you and the teacher.
- No Experience Needed: Zero artistic skills required. We even have a short training video you can do at your leisure that only takes 35 minutes to get you ready!
- Engaging & Interactive: We provide ready-to-go presentations that make it a breeze to lead. Plus, you get to spark curiosity with Q&A time.
Join us in adding a touch of creativity to your child's classroom. It's as easy as paint by numbers!
Extended Day Leopard Academy
Extended Day Leopard Academy is an opportunity for your child to participate in enrichment activities on his or her campus before and after school. Our goal is that these enrichment opportunities will allow our Lovejoy Leopards to develop creativity and critical thinking skills through activities related to their personal interests.
Registration is open for the following academies for students in kindergarten through 6th grade. Choose from one of the links below for more information.

Texting with Teachers
We are excited that the district will be utilizing Bright Arrow which will allow teachers to send "blast" texts and emails to our parents. As part of the district's Technology Acceptable Use Policy, we are asking teachers to refrain from texting with our parents. We are doing this in order to preserve our teacher's personal time and ensure confidentiality for all students. We know communication is important, and we encourage you to email, send a message in SeeSaw, or call the teacher on the school line. Thank you in advance for understanding.
Absences and Dismissal Changes
If your student will be ABSENT, please email Irianna Olvera at irianna_olvera@lovejoyisd.net. We need the email as documentation for our records.
If you have a DISMISSAL CHANGE for your student and either cannot access School Dismissal Manager or it is after 2:00, please email or call Janean Mancini at janean_mancini@lovejoyisd.net.
Checking Your Student Out Before 3:10
If you need to check out your student before the end of the day, please do so by 2:45pm. Anytime after that is difficult to get out of the parking lot. Thanks for your help with this!

A Note from Nurse Tami
Hello Hart family! We are seeing cases of pink eye. Contagious pink eye can be bacterial or viral. Symptoms include: pink or red color in the white of the eye(s); swelling of eyelids; increased tear production; itching, irritation, or burning; discharge; and crusting of eyelids or lashes (especially in the morning). Please do not send your child to school if you suspect pink eye.
Please do not send your child to school if he/she has:
- A fever of 100.0 degrees or greater
- Vomiting or Diarrhea
- An infection that requires antibiotics (i.e. Strep throat, bronchitis, pink eye, etc.) unless they have been on antibiotics for a full 24 hours
Clothing Donations: The clinic needs your help as our borrowed clothing inventory is low. The clinic needs clothing in every elementary age especially bottoms, unused underwear, and socks.
