Chromebook Returns

Students will be returning their Chromebook and charger on the date specified below. Please be sure to fully charge Chromebooks the night before they are due.

RCHS Track and Field Records

Ann Moses

200m School Record - 27.16

Record broken on 4/20/23, at the Cumberland County Last Chance Meet.

Ann will attend Tennessee Wesleyan University and be on the track team. She is receiving both academic and athletic scholarships.

Stephen Kerley

800m School Record - 2:00.67

Stephen will attend Tennessee Wesleyan University and be on the cross country and track teams. He is receiving both academic and athletic scholarships.

Band Concert

Under the direction of Mr. Gabriel Lajas, the RCHS band had their spring concert on May 2. The concert featured 5 different ensembles spanning 6th grade through 12th grade. Performances included a jazz band, a saxophone quartet, and a brief ceremony honoring our seniors for their four years of hard work in the band program.

Chorus Concert

Our choirs, under the direction of Mr. Bright, performed a classic rock set of music with a few songs accompanied by a small band comprised of mostly teachers! At the end of the night, all seven seniors were honored for their contributions this year.

TMEA Music Education Conference

Congratulations to Emily Girard! She worked very hard and qualified to participate in the All State Choir this year.

Vanderbilt Summer Healthcare Experience

Briley Lawson was nominated by Mr. Knudtson for the Vanderbilt Summer Healthcare Experience (SHE) progam. Briley was accepted into the SHE progam for this summer. This is a 2-week session for rising sophomore, junior, or senior female students who are typically underrepresented in the sciences. Briley's goal is to help others with hearing impairment in the future.

Physics

Physics students were tasked to build a contraption that would protect a raw egg dropped from the balcony to the commons (roughly a 4.6 meter or 15 foot drop). The catch was that each group was restricted to ten sheets of basic copy paper and three grams of simple scotch tape (a little over 8 feet). Many groups protected the egg from total destruction, but only seven out of the eighteen groups managed to keep their egg completely unscathed with no cracks or dents.
